Windows update with SD card

I'm trying to update my windows 10 tablet but it only has 32gb emmc storage which isn't enough for the latest update to happen. I'm using the Lenovo yoga tab 2 with a 64gb micro SD. Can I use the extra storage of the micro SD to do the update?

Try "Disk Cleanup" (cleanmgr.exe) utility first, see if you can reclaim enough space.

If not, get a USB-OTG cable and a USB flash drive. Create a Windows 10 installation media with that USB flash drive. Plug in the drive and run the installation. Select "Keep personal files and apps" option to only update your system.

guessing you're on about build 1809..

- as mentioned above me, run disk cleanup

- move all personal files off of the C drive to some other location

- use ccleaner to scrape off some extra edges (the <2GB it may find could just as much make the difference)

- remove any cache folders any applications may have, browser cache, the like.

- uninstall any software you can reinstall easily after the fact

and if that doesnt clear up enough space to do the update.. you should, as before mentioned, do a clean install

(and maybe just also buy a device with more space, because 32GB is idiotic for windows 10...)
