Graystripe reacted to LinusTech in August 31 2018 - WAN Show Document
Riley and I have known each other for almost 8 years and we've worked together in some capacity for over half of that time.

He asked to review a graphics card as a total joke. That's not his forte and he's perfectly comfortable with that. Even back at NCIX Tech Tips (as he mentioned on the WAN Show today) he got Ivan's help with a lot of the benchmarking stuff. Big deal.

You also need to understand that he's not some intern who isn't sure about his job security or his skills. Evaluating gaming cards may not be one of them but who cares? That's not what he was hired to do.

Riley was brought in as a specialist for TechLinked.

Something you guys might also not realize is that Riley is perfectly comfortable dishing out his share of trolling off-camera - even if he's not sure where the limits are yet with the live audience.

If LMG was a horrible place to work and anyone actually took me seriously about this stuff, we'd probably have a little more turnover, don't you think? These are very talented people who could get a job tomorrow if they felt like it.

We tease each other, but it's part of having some fun at work instead of being all corporate.

I messaged Riley to tell him people were upset at the way he was treated on the WAN Show and to make sure he was okay and he had to go find the timestamps people were posting to see why he was supposed to be upset.

So it's probably worthwhile to try re-watching with all of that in mind..

We invest  heavily into our staff/business operations because I have a particular set of "end game" goals that MIGHT be different from other content creators.

Making great content that gets a ton of views doesn't take a huge team. Trying to build a sustainable business operation that (if all goes according to plan) could be capable of running seamlessly without yourself someday does.

There is a ton of merit to both approaches. Neither is "correct".

And to be clear, this is not an announcement or even a HINT that I'm going anywhere anytime soon. It's just the kind of thing where if I were to get hit by a bus tomorrow I would want my family to inherit a strong, sustainable business, and I would want all of my staff to still have jobs.

They aren't going to sell them. They are for the stores. So I am guessing the iPhone 8 will have wireless charging.

Sometimes this occurs at lower listening volumes so try to increase and see if it goes away.
If it doesn't or it's too loud for you I'd just send them back and get a new pair.

Graystripe reacted to Majestic in AMD once again violating power specifications? (AMD RX-480)
UPDATE #4: Just watch this video instead:

Just saw this on Tom's Hardware review. It seems the 6-pin was used to sell a story of the card being more energy efficient than it actually was, or cut costs on places they shouldn't have.

    _______________________

This is very reminiscent of the disregard AMD had with the specifications regarding the R9-295X. A card that went well over 500W when it was using connections designed for 375W. I think this is pretty serious and shouldn't be overlooked...
Especially considering, unlike the R9-295X, this is going to be a budget king. And people will be using cheaper motherboards that won't necessarily use the beefier construction of these testrigs. The 295X mostly got away with it because it was expensive and mostly used in overpowered systems.

UPDATE: AMD has responded about the issue on an AMA:

Graystripe got a reaction from terrytek in Dell xps 15 or Apple MacBook Pro 15?
Is this the Retina MBP 15" or the older non-retina one?

If the Retina, I'd recommend it. It's a durable machine with an awesome display, although it's a bit pricey. You can install Windows if you really don't like OS X, but keep in mind that Windows has scaling issues with high resolution screens like that one. OS X looks great on it though!
If the non-retina, then the XPS 15, especially if you're comfortable with Windows.

Edit: Like many others have said, wait until August/September/October to buy! (That's usually when they update them)

So, I've seen threads asking for help in this subject an aweful lot lately.
I'm going to try to help more than just one at a time.

First things first. remove everything you know about dating from your mind, and I shall give you the one strongest piece of advice I have ever heard or have ever come up with. This works for either gender.
Falling in love is meant to be a mistake. It is not meant to be deliberate.Mess this simple idea up, and you will surely fail. The idea is, you never should be trying to get a date.
Just be nice to everyone, go for friends in everyone.
Then, when you fall in love, you know it's real.

If you've mastered the above, you can know that the subject of your love likely has fallen for you as well.

    Hi all,
I've come across NVIDIA's marketing facility! As you can see, only the best of the best make it here.

And the President of Marketing himself has been spotted!

Unfortunately I fell into one of their massive holes on the way out, but I survived.
Sorry I couldn't get more pics!
