Demogorgon reacted to TetraSky in Is it a good idea to buy renewed ch710n from amazon? Are renewed products faulty? Have you ever bought a renewed product? Please help!!!!!!
It's basically a fancier way of saying "refurbished". The product was allegedly tested and should be in "like-new" condition. Typically these are products that were returned to Amazon early on.

I very much doubt they've spent much time "testing" the product, other than making sure it powers on and maybe pair with a bluetooth device. If it was returned by a previous customer, it might have some issue that would only be found in specific scenarios.... Just like it can have zero issue whatsoever and the previous customer simply changed their mind.

But you get a 90 day warranty with them, so if anything goes wrong within 3 months, you can just return them.

Personally not sure. If it's at such a big discount probably? But I haven't tried this or very many budget Bluetooth headphones as I've been more interested in tws iems lately for the use case this headphone presents

At this price point with all the features why not just go to the source of these skull candies and buy directly from Chinese brands like taotronics , mpow, and Anker they all make some half decent ANC wireless headsets at this price point

Right now I'm using Sennheiser HD 206's.
They were really cheap but surprisingly they've held up.
I've had this set for a year and they're pretty okay for how much they were. They're definitely going to depreciate fully within the next year though so i don't know if i can recommend them. The over the ear fabric is not sweat-proof and is starting, emphasis on starting (nowhere near) depreciating.
They have a 2 year warranty, for this quality and price that's pretty good.
It also came with an amp plug which was a bonus, if you play guitar or bass that is.

    EDIT*
I forgot to mention, i work from home most of the time and have been on sick leave for awhile so my usage of these headphones has been almost triple the average usage for the average user. So they might actually last longer for you.

Skull candy headphones are dog shit. And that's not 50% off, they actually cost $70. They're just marking up the MSRP to make it seem like a sale.

AKG K72 headphones will sound 10 times as good at half the price

My memory is that skullcandy is a paper company.  They don’t actually make anything.  They just rebrand and mark up stuff.  Whatever headphones they are there is probably something else with a different name that is the same thing.

Yes. Skullcandy has a worse rep than beats, which is a hard thing to accomplish.

this proves that even more so, lots of companies raise the price of a product and then have a "sale" that sells the product at MSRP

    Skullcandy make cheap products.
Unless you're 14 and can't afford good stuff, avoid.
The last and final product i bought from them were Uproar Wireless Headphones. They didn't even last 6 months and started to break at the seems, plus a nightmare if you wear glasses.
Sound quality is garbage 110% of the time.

Demogorgon reacted to GDRRiley in Is a Core2Duo enough for a streaming NAS
a 2-4th gen i3 or i5 are well worth the upgrade for the much faster performance and for hardware encoders.
how many streams are you after?

Demogorgon reacted to Noah0302 in Is a Core2Duo enough for a streaming NAS
I dont know about streaming since it will depent on the quality you want, but file storage should be more than fine. I run 2 Gameserver, 1 Website and an FTP on my old i5 4460 without any performance issues.

The only issue I can see it that the power usage will be a lot higher than a PC with new hardware and similair performance.

It's enough for storage, but it's not enough for streaming if you're going to be transcoding (using Plex to watch on a TV, for example).  My i5-2400 occasionally stutters when transcoding 720p video.  It definitely can't handle 1080p.  You'll need a semi-modern quad core if you want to stream.

yea definitely  get the non x. the performance difference is so little, if any and you can get the same clocks that the x has by enabling pbo anyways.

3600X (or 3600 non-X if it's cheaper), unless you exclusively do tasks that are heavily multithreaded.

They'll only be third generation, and will likely cost more than $130 if history repeats itself.

Don't see why this would be so "crappy", that all depends on the context and use-case.
The only thing I would argue, is that the A320 doesn't seem to be ready for he  newest generation.
Although, even that is a little confusing, because just a few weeks ago Asrock came up with a new BIOS for the Deskmini A300 to support the new generation Ryzen APU's

Yeah I thought so. Normally $70 USD would've been waay to much for an A320 board but hardware is more expensive outside of the US so it makes sense.

Yes.  At this point it's more about the support.  That's a first generation chipset.  There are major problems with compatiblity at this point, because the ROM chips aren't big enough to support everything.  On another note, they also just tend to be poorly made.

And as I said, getting an Intel system would be better.   The AMD APU's don't have that many uses.

    ^ this,
you could just go with an athlon which will be more than enough.
PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Athlon 3000G 3.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor $49.00 @ B&H Motherboard Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard $72.99 @ Best Buy   Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts     Total $121.99   Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-08-03 10:13 EDT-0400   most b450 boards ship with the new bios, or you could get a 200g which will still be more than enough.
and another option is getting an optiplex with a 3770 or something similar for like 120 bucks and that will do the job.

msi's max boards do, if the box says ryzen 3000 ready then it is.
if the board didn't ship with the agesa code for zen + apus you can ask a computer store/ the vendor to update it for you.
