BobIsGaming reacted to ZetZet in Wireless mouse for my Surface Pro 3?
Bluetooth and gaming don't really mix. Razer Orochi is the only one I know.

BobIsGaming got a reaction from megaant4 in Good budget IPS Monitor for video and photo editing > $200
I'd definitely recommend the Acer H236HLBID. It has a strong enough base to tilt the screen without the base moving with it (this happened to the AOC I2367FH I had.) Plus, an HDMI and a DVI was enough for me. The lowest I've seen these babies are ~$130

They will either have them out or just ask for one.

Sign up for the Best Buy edu discounts. That's $100 off a Mac. Then go to the Post Office, and get a movers kit. Its an envelope full of stuff including a 10% any one item at Best Buy coupon. The two coupons will scan together in store. You can get a base 13" 8/128 rMBP for around $1100 OTD this way or the 8/256 for around $1300 OTD.
The MUCH better screen, more powerful CPU, and added RAM are well worth it over the base MBA.

BobIsGaming reacted to Kevin Fletcher in Noob NAS questions
If you get a NAS all your data will be stored on the NAS, meaning you should be able to access it all on a local network via dlna (or file browser depending on the NAS you pick) and should be able to access it over the internet as well (if the NAS you pick supports plex). You would need to put all your media and files on the NAS or else you can't access them from other devices.

BobIsGaming reacted to ZacDaMan72 in Noob NAS questions
Yes, but make sure its a mATX board. H97M-E would be good too.

I agree with using Plex, it's pretty great. And as far as building your own NAS, It might be worth it to just buy a prebuild NAS like a drobo and just buy some drives for it.
-
BobIsGaming reacted to ZacDaMan72 in Noob NAS questions
1. Yes, but the only media thingy I've used is Plex.
2. If you want a separate computer just for NAS, whatever you can salvage lol
2a. Yes and run Plex.

BobIsGaming reacted to DoubleY in New DSLR suggestions?
I personally have the D5300 and I think it's a great camera. I got it in the kit with an 18-140mm and a 55-300mm lens. Awesome kit that I could highly recommend!

BobIsGaming got a reaction from TheGrapeEscape in New DSLR suggestions?
Ok thanks, I'm going to wait for a bit to see if I can find a D5300 cheap again but if not than K-50 for sure, thanks
-
BobIsGaming reacted to TheGrapeEscape in New DSLR suggestions?
Sounds like you know what you're doing already. That's a great price for the D5200, and the K-50 is a great camera at a similar price. I'm a fan of the Pentax myself, the weather sealed body and kit lens are great and since it has in-body image stabilisation you can use older ebay lenses for some cheap fun. You can also get the K-50 18-135mm WR camera kit for around $800 if you want the body and a good all-round lens http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-Digital-Camera-18-135mm-f3-5-5-6/dp/B00DBPK99S/
Not sure there's much else to add since you mentioned some good choices

BobIsGaming got a reaction from Tea1337 in This or that?
Eh, 120hz is nice for gaming but I don't game as much as I do editing. Thanks though! I'll just go get more IPS monitors
Cheers!
-
BobIsGaming reacted to Tea1337 in This or that?
That TV is likely a TN panel, even the BEST TN panel can't really compete with an IPS panel for color representation and such, but you can't get 120hz out of an ips panel that I know of.

BobIsGaming reacted to Clarkey in 2x MSI R9 280x or 1x MSI Geforce 780?
If you wanna game at 4k then you need 2 290x. Grab one 290x now and save up for a second. Two 280x will not perform at 4k at all.

BobIsGaming got a reaction from Vitalius in I'm considering my next keyboard purchase and need recommendations.
Another vote for the G710+, unless u want to try Cherry MX Red switches than Corsair K95
Yup, on my SS Apex keyboard, I set one key as my email and the other macros as passwords. I wish my Ducky Shine III had those though :c, I would definitely buy a side macro keyboard if I can though, one that's like the numpad ones like this

BobIsGaming got a reaction from RubyRoks in Good Wireless Keyboard and Mouse?
K70 isn't wireless
But I agree with the G602 but finding a gaming wireless keyboard is difficult but I think a detachable USB cable for a wired gaming keyboard would be just as good...or am I wrong?
