You could do what I've just done. Which is buy two Epyc 7742 processors on eBay, cost me 4400 USD for two of them. And I've built a system with 128 cores and 256 threads - base clock is 2 Ghz but boost clock is 3 Ghz. It runs smoothly - I've installed 256GB of RAM so far and will upgrade in a few months to double the RAM. I'm a 3D visualiser too, so I'm using it for exactly the same thing you will.

It all come down to what your usage gonna be.

If you're like me who play game without streaming or running a bunch of chrome tabs and apps in background,
I'm sure 6C is enough for it. You won't be getting the best of the best performance but it's already on good spot for gaming.

If you have to open a bunch of software beside game+discord, better cores might looks better.

It depends on how you gonna be using.
    Cheers!

We already got 5950X. It's amazing but I thought we could go higher since we already got the budget. (pure luck btw)

Thank you. I thought I should for the next gen too but I'm a bit afraid to wait since AMD didn't give out even a hint of that next gen.

It'll be 5000 series. 4000 was exclusively mobile APUs. Regardless, the most recent rumor is from December of last year, and claimed a source with a good track record says they're launching March 8. AMD was also supposedly going to announce the new Threadripper parts at CES 2022, though, and that never happened. However, given the supposed launch is a month away, I'd say it's worth waiting just to see if it actually happens or not.

Depends on how intensive on CPU your rendering is. A 5950X can easily handle CAD and I would think if you're buying multiple 3090s then this isn't totally CPU dependent. Also, workstation systems aren't that different from "consumer grade" hardware - bigger CPU socket, components are heavier/built better usually but that's pretty much it.

Hypothetically, on an unlimited budget, what option would be better in what general categories, 3990x Threadripper or dual-7742 Epyc. Epyc has more memory support, and you can get more PCI-E lanes by going dual-socket, but the Threadripper has higher clocks. Categories include; Gaming, HPC, Video Editing, Crypto Mining, Future-proof, and any others you can think of.

The problem with doing it that way is that router is going to take all the load of accessing the NAS and all the Internet connections.  Depending on the size of the connection to the NAS you run the risk of the Internet slowing down when the NAS is under heavy load.  It makes absolutely zero sense to use routing to access the NAS when there is a much simpler solution.

Considering how I understand the current configuration (each floor is running off its own router with DHCP?), the most obvious solution is to have five network cards in the NAS so that it can physically connect to all five subnets.

If for some reason you can't have more than a single network adapter in the NAS (or the implication you had as there being multiple NAS machines), connect the floors switches to the one the NAS is plugged into and configure VLAN tagging accordingly (on each NAS and the switches) so it only sends other floors traffic to the NAS.

That way the network stays as it is and every floor has a direct path to the NAS via its own subnet, not touching the routers at all.

The only other thing you'd have to do is configure the NAS according to which ISP you want IT to use as the default, as it would have access to all five.

As Electronics Wizardy already said, this is a really, really bad design.

Setting this up will be a bit complicated and will require some understanding of things like VLANs and how routing works. You won't be able to find a product that's just plug-n-play.
I saw someone mention Fortigate earlier and that's probably what I'd recommend too. That will give you a good base to further expand the network on later. I am not entirely sure if you can use all ports as "WAN ports" on lower end models like the 60E. If you can, and I might be able to look into this, then I think a 60E and some SD-WAN configuration is what you need, and maybe some switches if you don't have that already.

Networking is not what I'm good at but somehow I was appointed to deal with anything IT related in office.

Our current problem is that we have a total of 5 different ISPs (1 ISP for each floor) which we need to merge them into 1 network so that
every floor can access to NASs which all are put into the server room.

I don't need them to be under one IP range like 192.168.1.xxx which might caused not enough IP for every devices.
I need a device which would take in 5 of those ISPs and put out 5 different IP ranges (192.168.1.xx ~ 192.168.5.xx~) which can access the NASs (and other stuffs) from every floor.

Anything educational is a plus for me.
    Thanks in advance.

Basically all the high end routers can do this, get a router with enough ports and setup routes and your good.

But this feels like bad network planning to me, and It would be much better to design the network right here, than add this on.

Can you get rid of some of these connections? Makes much more sense to have 1 or 2 higher sped links here.

Yea a router can do this, basically all buiness grade routers with enough ports can do it, pfsense, untangle, sonicwall, fortinet.

Id get a networking guy in to help you set this up if you haven't done this type of stuff before.

You can set priority of connections.

And fewer faster connections is almosta lways better here, esp with people who want stuff to load fast. Id much rather have 2x500mb connections than 5x 200mb connections here.

what ever you are learning it will do it just fine with cheaper option.I am running visual studio, youtube, firefox with 20+ tabs without anyproblem or lag.Compiling for begginer is fast enough since you are doing small stuff.

my advice, buy a cheaper laptop and buy one external monitor.Learning will be much easier then constantly switching tabs. Most of the youtube videos will suggest high end build for some proffesionall programmers, but in case of begginer its not needed at all.My buddy is doing app development at his company with old macbook, that has old i7 and 8gb ram.

Acer swift 3 with a ryzen 4500u? Better than any of intels low power offerings and also beats their high power i5's and hovers between those and the i7's. All whilst being crazy efficient thus having a lot of battery life.

the question is what is considered shiny.
if this is supposed to be a permanent installation and most of the monitors just show a static thing or video feed i would simply use a radpberry pi which can show something on two monitors and use a few of them.

using a 4GPU setup is needlessly complicated for this purpose.

Get a threadripper board and you'll have 5-7 pci-e x16 slots and support for more than 128 GB of memory. If you don't need processing power, there's cheap 8 core threadrippers that are cheap and still powerful enough.

As for video cards, if it's just for that usage (showing surveillance/monitoring/playing videos etc) you could consider older single slot AMD workstation video cards, which have up to 6 outputs

For example, you could spend  around 100$ on FirePro W7000 cards : https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-FirePro-W7000-4GB-GDDR5-PCI-Express-x16-Desktop-Video-Card/113937984038 - single slots with 4 outputs and performance a bit lower than a gtx 1050 / about same as RX 560 cards

    Here's Techpowerup page for w7000 : https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/firepro-w7000.c587

See also FirePro W5100 ... just older generation but still capable with 4 GB of memory and 4 outputs. Plenty of them on ebay and single slot.

W9000 are more expensive and dual slot, but have 6 mini display port outputs

There's other models in the series, w4100, w4300 etc .. but not sure if lower/older models can do 4k on their outputs, or if they're new enough to not have issues with drivers in Windows 10. They probably can and have drivers but double check.

There's also older nvidia quadro cards which should have 4 outputs or more. a random example 140$ for a quadro 1200 with 4 displayport outputs incl. dp cables : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nvidia-Quadro-K1200-4GB-GDDR5-Mini-DP-DisplayPort-Cables-Windows-10-Video-Card/264877654798

No point wasting 2070 and 2080 cards on just monitoring.

I don't have experience with 2 GPUs and 16 monitors, but I do have experience with 2 GPUs and 5 monitors. That worked just fine. One of the GPUs was a GTX 680, the other was some 11-12 year old low end AMD or Nvidia GPU (I used each for some time). I was on Windows 7 though, but Windows 10 should work as well, I'd say.

Since you have the materials, I'd just start hooking them up!  Of course, first start with two GPUs, so you aren't somehow missing some crucial step in the beginning.
