Cayde-7 reacted to et3rnalcry in ABC's of gaminh book inquiry.
My wife is having our baby tomorrow and we want a great library to read to him. I check the LTT store multiple times each day to see if the ABC's of gaming book is out, but with no luck.
I really want to read this book to our future son and wanted to know if there was a release date or sign up for email page to know when it is available? Thank you

Cayde-7 reacted to DailyProcrastinator in Is the LG 27GL63T Ultragear a good monitor or can I get a better deal?
I'd still recommend the options I linked. Or these with the potential of loosing out on the adaptive sync depending on the GPU you get.

I would not get the LG 27GL63T, bigger than 24" at 1080p is not the greatest visually.

Cayde-7 reacted to SansVarnic in LTT Store suggestion.
@LinusTech
I have been thinking on and off about this and I know that LMG has not promoted coffee in a little while but would it be to far out to ask for an LTT coffee mug? not a 10 oz or 12oz mug but a decent sized 20oz mug? I drink coffee maybe twice a week but I would like to drink up some good tech coffee and I think an LTT Coffee mug would make a great addition to my mug collection, not to mention my desk while I drink it.
Also maybe get Matt Best and Black Rifle Coffee to do a LTT guest shoot to promote the mug? Lol! that would be epic but probably to much to ask.
Thanks

Cayde-7 reacted to mbntr in CPU Heat problems
that cooler seems a bit anemic to me, in any case, try to reseat the cooler and change the thermal paste.
I would suggest replacing your current one since it seems to be a bit too small for your CPU

I’m gonna copy and paste what I’ve written on an earlier thread that got locked:
Just a PSA to everyone, now is not the time to brag how immune you are. You are risking the lives of many people so please stay at home, and if you really need to buy necessities like food or medication, don’t bring your entire family outside just to buy those. Don’t be that asshole who will shout at a cop for politely asking you to return home because you brought three other family members in your car. You’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem!
You can do stuff at home like play with your dog, watch that Netflix series (sorry 480p Netflix in Europe, we in Asia still get 1080p and 4K), read those books, learn how to cook, workout using your body weight, whatever to take your stress away.
Also right now is not the time to be disgusting because so wash your hands for 20 seconds before rinsing and for the love of god, take a bath everyday regardless of your weather condition. No evidence shows that antimicrobial soaps are more effective than regular bath soaps so it doesn’t matter what brand.

Pro tip:
- toilet paper
- paper towels
- tissues
- napkins
- and other papery products
Can be used interchangeably.
Consider not being picky this time when the tissues you wanted aren't there but you're right next to a pile of toilet paper.

Cayde-7 reacted to 5x5 in A mixed blessing/mishap - Ryzen chips sold in wrong packaging
Well, I guess this is what happens when you're selling CPUs like hot cakes - mistakes when rushing to fulfill orders. This is great news for AMD (and the lucky people who got a 3600 when expecting a 3200G)

Cayde-7 reacted to 5x5 in can i put a ryzen 5 3600xt on a asus prime b450m k
I'd the BIOS is up to date, yes.

As long as it turbo's long enough you should be fine but that depends on how good or bad it is cooled.

Cayde-7 reacted to STawX in I will build you a PC, seriously. - ROG Rig Reboot Announcement
My pc sucks. Ryzen 1500x, Msi 1050 Ti OC GT, HyperX DDR4 8 GB 2400 mhz and Corsair VS550.
It lags like hell, minor and major stutters,,thermal throttle on GPU. Smooth gameplay? I have never experienced such thing.
Why does my computer suck ? Because there is no ROG component in it...

Cayde-7 reacted to Spakes in Buying used 10 series GPU
Grab on USB stick with yourself some useful programs like HWInfo64, FurMark, GPU-Z and Unigine Heaven/3DMark (as well as some games, if you can).
If seller doesn't want you to allow to do some testing, send this guy to the hell and don't go to him.
Now when it comes to testing, you might want to look for 3 things: Info about card, temps and fan speeds, performance.
Technical info can be revealed by HWInfo64 and GPU-Z. Look for any inconsistencies in specs and if there are some, don't buy it.
Temps and fan speeds can be revealed by combination of GPU-Z sensors tab and really heavy stress test on GPU that is FurMark. Temperature shouldn't be higher than 90°C and spike instantly. Instead you should see increase in temps that look like y=sqrt(x) and establish at one point after 5-15 minutes. If it is good there, go to perfomance tests.
If tests show scores lower than usual, you might want to recheck what is wrong. Maybe power plan was not on High Perfomanmce, maybe there are problems with P-states, or, worst of all, it's not what it says it is (for example, GTX 650 with 1 GB of GDDR3 memory and 384-bit bus isn't real GTX 650, it was BIOS-hacked).

Cayde-7 reacted to LukeSavenije in Dual or Single molex > 6 pin
nope, that's horrible
what is your country, budget and whole system?
-
Cayde-7 reacted to LukeSavenije in Dual or Single molex > 6 pin
i mean... most of the times, yeah
you have rare cases with servers, where many need special cables or don't even support pcie power
-
Cayde-7 reacted to LukeSavenije in Dual or Single molex > 6 pin
wait... 8 pin is 150w according to atx spec, isn't that a little low?
but yeah, totally right on molex, because that's mostly 5v, not 12v

Cayde-7 reacted to LukeSavenije in Dual or Single molex > 6 pin
oh damn... i wouldn't put a 570 on that... spend money on a new one, not a converter
@191x7 i think you have the same thoughts?

Cayde-7 reacted to LukeSavenije in Dual or Single molex > 6 pin
system power 9 or cx 2017, should be around 40 euros

good luck! you can mark it solved with that checkmark on the left, and we'd always appreciate some likes
