Way too expensive. You need to account the fact that the hardware is older. You also need to account for things such as the fact that Intel 8th gen CPUs have more cores, and are, therefore, a much more appealing option for people buying used, which makes the price of your CPU go further down. If you want a better estimate, you should probably search for similar builds on your local used market as well as eBay. That will give you a better estimate.

Maybe you can try ebay.fr with a starting point of 350€ and see if people bid on it. If the final price doesn't suit you, you can just cancel the sell.

You could get away with 400-450 euros potentially depending on how current hardware is priced in France but any person who knows what he is buying probably won't pay but then again such a person won't buy a pre-built.

If you're lucky I'd say 500€ at most but yeah 50% seems about right like @DoctorNick said.

Maybe 50% off - your suggested prices are the same as brand new hardware.

if you ever get a power outage or a power fluctuation for even a second, a battery will save you. you can save your work, and shutdown.

No, there's no issue in doing so, especially if your battery is dead or nearly dead. If you would use the laptop mainly as a desktop you'd remove the battery to preserve it so it doesn't do too many cycles and wear out with time unnecessarily.

keep it. it can act like a backup incase your power goes out. no matter how worn out the battery gets, it is usefull.

better to remove battery, if the model allows, a dying battery is likely to be swollen  and drains fast.
laptop will continuous charge the battery thus waste power

Personally I've never needed a TB3 port. I know i'm not a tech specialist, but i'll be fine with bluetooth and the type A usb port for peripherals. For everything else, the USB C port is pretty versatile. You can still be charging your laptop while using it. For things it does not do, there is the jack port for audio. And yes, you wont be able to use an external GPU without TB I guess, but there are a lot of way better options for gaming anyway.

Sure, you can be disappointed to not have it, and it can be a deal breaker for you. But just as Mr moose said, it is just not a big deal for the majority of people. If it actually is, they will sell less units and might think about adding it.

I really liked this launch. I was hoping for a Surface Book 3, but, oh well.
I did find it interesting that the Surface Pro 7 includes Intel's new iris plus graphics for both the i5 and i7 versions. From what I've been able to find, the new graphics are competitive with AMD's Vega 10 graphics and the processors are a nice bump up from the old versions.
I am a bit disappointed though that they didn't increase the screen size of the Pro 7, while they did increase the size of the Pro X even though they have fairly similar form factors. I also don't understand why the base i5 model still only has a 128 GB ssd or why it costs $300 to upgrade it to 256 GB. That made more sense 4 years ago with the Pro 4, but now it's kind of annoying.
I think Thunderbolt 3 would have been nice, but I would have only ever used it for a dGPU. Also, considering I do most gaming on a desktop anyways, it is hard to justify buying a dGPU with how much many cost.
Someone mentioned that they've never seen someone use a Surface Pro without a keyboard. I did. I originally didn't even buy the keyboard. I used my Pro 4 and the pen to take notes in college all the time. It was my favorite way to take notes and they keyboard can get in the way. I also prefer removing the keyboard to watch movies, especially in bed. I honestly regret selling my Pro 4. I liked it a lot better than my current laptop.
People have mentioned that they can't think of use for the Surface Duo. They showed several uses during the event and I found all of them applicable. Using split screen on a phone can often be a pain. Another thing I find annoying, is playing a game or watching a movie on my phone and receiving a text. It's always a pain to try and switch between the texting app and whatever else I'm doing. Especially if I want to have a conversation with this person while I'm watching a video. I like the idea of the Surface Duo for that reason alone.

I don't know how it works exactly in France. But you have to keep in mind that you may have import fees, shipping fees, and additional certifications to do (cost more money to do), and possibly other red tape to jump/pay that adds to the cost, which is simply past down to the consumer, and that price, as always, is rounded to a nice number (usually up) and sold at that price. Currency conversion also plays apart in the price of a product.

The Surface laptop seems nice. I just hope it doesn't come with Windows S like the old surface laptop. Disappointed that you only get 128GB of storage on the 1000 dollar model though. I think 256 should be the minimum at that price range.

I still don't get the appeal of the Surface Pro. We have several clients who use them and I have never seen anyone use it as a tablet. They all use it with the keyboard, and at that point why not just get a laptop instead?
Also, let's hope they have improved the wireless chip and antennas, because that has been ass in all Surface Pro models.

The earbuds are ugly and really expensive. I don't see them winning over many Galaxy Bud and AirPods users.

For those wondering, the Surface Pro X SoC is a modified version of the 8CX. It would have been interesting if the comparison had been between the 8CX and SQ1, rather than SQ1 and some older Intel chip.
By the way, the 855 we have in phones has 7 teraOPS for AI performance, so this is only ~30% faster than this year's phones. The GPU and CPU seems really beasty though, but not really that big of a difference compared to the regular 8CX.
But Windows on ARM seems really shitty so I'll pass on this device.

Oh boy... Windows 10X. Yet another version of Windows. How many do we have now?
Seems like a cool concept though. Will be interesting to see how well it works out in real life, with battery life and usability. My biggest problem with Windows on tablets is and has always been that there are very few programs on it that works well with a touch screen. The programs I typically use on Windows requires a good mouse/trackpad and keyboard. And if I want to just do some casual web browsing or video watching then my top priorities is weight, which this probably fails at.

Really cool that the Surface Duo runs Android apps. That will solve one of the biggest problems I have with Windows tablets, like I said earlier.
I hope that this device changes a lot before release though, because in its current form I think it's a pretty useless device. If I get a foldable device I want it because it can act like a phone and tablet hybrid. The Surface Duo will not be able to replace my phone for a wide varity of reasons, including but not limited to things like completely lacking any type of rear camera. It's also a very big device which seems more like a small tablet rather than a phone even when folded together.
