There have been OLED screen phones far before the iPhone and there hasn’t been any reported widespread issues. Don’t get sucked in to the Samsung QLED scaremongering marketing.

no, my point was exactly what i said: "opinions can be wrong". i reacted to an article claiming gsync makes sure the panels are optimized and whatnot and i linked concrete evidence of freesync monitor outperforming gsync with the same panel, no opinion there
i do very much get it. nvidia wants us to think that gsync is some kind of guarantee of better quality than anything labeled as freesync, which is not true. if you want good monitor you need to look at other stuff, gsync nor freesync label will help you find one

Did you just say WORSE BATTERY LIFE?
Thats just wrong. The OnePlus should last the same time, and it has a 90Hz display.
Other then that the IP Rating really dosn't matter, that does not mean that it aint water resistant, just that it wasnt checked / noticed.

The flagship iPhone vs The real Limited Edition Flagship OnePlus

*For all you apple fans out there, and for all you android fans out there, i promise, even do i prefer android, this will be a honest comparison.

So how is it going to work?
There will be a couple of rounds:
Performance Camera Display Price Security For each round, 5 Points will be given all together.
The winner is the phone with the most points.

    Round 1 | Performance

As we know, the OnePlus 7T Pro (Bla bla...) comes with a Snapdragon 855 Plus chip, while the iPhone 11 comes with a new A13 Bionic Chip.
Other then that, the OnePlus comes with 12 GB of RAM, while the iPhone comes with only 4.
But, when it comes to bare performance, the iPhone is faster in loading apps, and the same results in how much apps it keeps in the background.
When it comes to benchmarks, again, the iPhone wins, here are the results:

GeekBench 5 (CPU) | OnePlus - 761 Single Core, 2818 Multi Core. iPhone - 1334 Single Core, 3581 Multi Core. GeekBench 5 Compute (GPU) | OnePlus - 2690. iPhone - 6391 GFX Bench - Off Screen (FPS) | OnePlus - 112FPS. iPhone - 116FPS JavaScript - Sunspider | OnePlus - 338.1ms. iPhone - 105.4ms (The Lower The Better) (Tested in Safari on iPhone, Chrome on OnePlus (Native Browser) ) 5 Points to iPhone | 0 Points to OnePlus

    Round 2 | Camera

    Here are the camera specs:
    iPhone
    - Rear Telephoto | 12MP
    - Rear Main / Wide | 12MP
    - Rear Ultrawide | 12MP
    - Front | 12MP OnePlus
    - Rear Main / Wide | 48MP
    - Rear Ultrawide | 16MP
    - Rear Telephoto | 8MP
    - Front (Motorized Pop-Up) | 16MP
The specs show that the OnePlus should have a better camera, but is that true?
In short: Partly yes, partly no.
In long: The iPhone has better photo processing and a better dynamic range, while the OnePlus has more sharpness & has a better night mode.

1 Point to iPhone | 4 Points to OnePlus

    Round 3 | Display

The display specs are for the OnePlus, as shown here:

    OnePlus
Giant 6.64 Inch display. Optical AMOLED. 1440x3120 Pixels. 558 ppi. 90Hz. iPhone
Big 6.5 Inch display. OLED (Finally, apple...) 1242x2688 Pixels. 458 ppi. 60Hz.
And also, you can feel the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren has a smoother display with 90Hz, although the iPhone 11 Pro Max actually competes pretty well.

1 Point to iPhone | 4 Points to OnePlus

    Round 4 | Price

Did i already mention the ridiculous price tag of the iPhone 11 Pro Max at $1099 for 64GB, wich can get up to $1999 for 512GB? Thats $2000 out of your wallet! The OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition isnt so cheap either, sadly, $831 for 256GB, even do thats less then half the price of a 512GB iPhone 11 Pro Max, and is cheaper then a 64GB iPhone 11 Pro Max.
I guess this round again is a win for OnePlus.

1 Point to iPhone | 4 Points to OnePlus

    Round 5 | Security

In security, the iPhone actually can be a winner.
Apple wont stop bragging about Face ID, and i agree with them, its flippin good, and is ultra fast, but really, why ditch the Fingerprint Scanner? Make the apple logo the Fingerprint scanner and im sure your  sales are gonna up.
In the side of OnePlus, they also have Face Recognition, but not as superior as Face ID, but they have the super-ultra-fast Under-The-Display fingerprint scanner, wich is faster then Face ID.

2.5 Points to iPhone | 2.5 Points to OnePlus

    THE BIG CONCLUSION!
    OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition | 14.5 Points
    iPhone 11 Pro Max | 10.5 Points

The overall winner would be OnePlus if you want the most out of your smartphone.
If you want to brag about you and your friends ain't some tech guys your better off with the iPhone.

    I got a quite a few.
    1) Vega wasn't bad and will age very well as DX12 and vulkan become more adopted.
2)Nvidia will be struggling with RDNA for the foreseeable future. Turing will be struggling against RDNA on the gaming side while Arcturus (MegaVega) will be crushing it on the compute/datacenter.
3)Many people don't need ATX, MATX will be more than enough for cpu, gpu, cooler so on. Unless you need 3 or more add in cards MATX will be a better more affordable for budget people. And shifting to that standard will have more manufacturers bring higher end boards to that standard.
    4) 120hz will be the next standard. 60 is going the way of 30Hz. (I was still adamant about 60Hz but got to try 120Hz and now I get it.)
    5) Intel on desktop will essentially be bulldozer especially when Zen 3 launches. But intel on laptop will be hands down the only options especially with foveros and the Intel version of "Little Big" with Willow Cove Cores with a larger highly binned Rocket Lake Cores.
Feel free to rebuttal I am always willing to hear some fresh perspectives.

Aldoarip reacted to RedRound2 in iPhones get free unlimited storage on Google Photos at original quality, while Pixel 4 gets left behind (Updated)
And for the most part, people love wireless. Why do you think AirPods have become a runaway hit? I've seen instagram posts of people marvelling about how cool and magical airpods seemed to be when they first came out. If you still want wired, you can, it's just slightly more inconvenient now,  requiring a dongle, thereby giving user a nudge to the new direction, but not stopping them completely.

And there are times where you shouldn't give consumers options. Because if any companies did keep doing that, all of sudden they have to support million of different standards and ways of doing things. And that's forgetting the fact that people don't generally like change and theyll just stick with what they;re comfortable with even though there's a much superior version of the same out there

Aldoarip reacted to RedRound2 in iPhones get free unlimited storage on Google Photos at original quality, while Pixel 4 gets left behind (Updated)
Well, only modern phones needs to support it. Again, my question is why can't all images and photos taken by any one of today's mid range to high flagship take in HEVC and HEIC format. It would save google tons of storage, it would save us all a lot of local storage, plus HEIC has a ton more features than JPEGs. HEIC/HEVC is quite ubiquitous now and I believe Google should just adopt it at this point rather than forcing a format wars
Go on, scream out in the open air what you just said. That will make all the difference. It's not coming back. Move on. All manufacturers are abandoning it and general consumers have moved onto wireless for most part

Everyone understands that shit. No one can tell for sure whether "RTX" powered game will also run on NON-NVIDIA card. Games thats ay "DXR" in the settings are self explanatory. Those that may say "RTX" in the settings do not. Even if RTX runs on top of DXR, game may not expose it to the drivers because NVIDIA and their dumb locking down nonsense. This is what ppl are asking, not what RTX runs on. We all know it's DXR...

Aldoarip reacted to Taf the Ghost in Intel confirms that its discrete Xe GPUs will release in 2020
Turing RTX is a gimmick. Or a Tech Demo, if you prefer. It actually exists in Turing for two reasons: 1) Because AMD/Sony/MS were bringing it to the next console generation, so they "had" to get out first (that's just how Nvidia operates) and 2) so Nvidia had a public justification for wasting so much die space on units (Tensor Cores) that are really only for certain professional workloads.

Turing RTX is the Bulldozer of Ray Tracing. Internal bottlenecks mess up a good idea. Nvidia's 2nd gen RTX will be upwards of 5-10x faster because they'll remove the timing bottleneck, which will make Turing EOL for any DXR game pretty much the instant Ampere launches. (Or whatever Nvidia calls their next gaming design. Ampere still might just be Server only.)

For all the crying being done about epic and exclusives every week, it's complete crickets when it comes to steam doing exactly the same. They have hundreds of games that you can't legally purchase anywhere else. Just because they don't specifically target exclusives with contractual clauses doesn't mean they aren't very much a reality on that platform.

    1. I never singled out steam specifically for this. If you read my previous posts earlier in the thread I made it clear that my stance regarded all DRM clients but because tools continue to white knight for steam and compare them to epic as if they are the saviour of gaming with a poorly constructed "steam good, epic bad" argument then I'll make an example out of it.

Aldoarip reacted to Crowbar in Steam distribution policy prohibits Epic Games / Tim Sweeney from exclusivizing any Steam-marketed games
It justifies my position regarding your petty attempt to use the size of a game catalogue from a platform that specializes in OLD games against it in comparison to steam which literally lets any trash on their platform as long as they are willing to pay a percentage of sales. How many "games" get removed from steam on a weekly basis because they contain malware or other dubious material? I'm arguing the concept of GOG as being superior. Not the entire platform itself which is much smaller in size and typically caters to a more niche market. A specific title not being available DRM free means that I will get it else where. How exactly that's done is my business.

I've been arguing this entire time that steam popularized CLIENT BASED DRM. Cherry picking a single sentence with one missing word doesn't change the point I've made this entire time. I guess it's too much to ask that you follow and understand my argument from the beginning, my bad. I'll cater to your poor level of interpretation more closely moving forward.

Anything else you'd like clarification on? Maybe spell check my posts next? God forbid, I miss a word from one reply to the next or it will be grasped by you as having "moved the goal posts".
