Paul Rudd got a reaction from podkall in Planet Coaster 95% off on Steam May 24th (and some other freebies/goodies)
Planet Coaster is a whopping 95% off($2.24) on Steam right now. 91% Very Positive reviews.

Offer ends May 30th, do NOT let this deal pass you by because you're looking at $6 to $13.50 and that's if you're lucky. It sits at around $9 to $13.50 and that's if it's on sale. It's hit $6 on the WinGameStore recently but not everybody buys from them.

And make sure to consider the 3 DLC packs below because they're rarely at their current $1.19(60% Off) prices...

Back to the Future Time Machine Construction Kit
    Knight Rider K.I.T.T. Construction Kit
The Munsters Munster Koach Construction Kit

To help decide about these 3 DLC packs hit up YouTube to see what you get. IMO, they're worth these prices.

As for the freebie/goodies I mentioned...

Warhammer 40,000 Gladius Relics of War is once again FREE on Steam, GOG and Epic right now.
Here is the GOG link, here is the Steam link and here is the Epic link.

Also, the Warhammer Skulls 2024 Digital Goodie Bag is FREE on GOG right now as well.
Not to be confused with the Goodie Bag they gave out years ago.

Paul Rudd got a reaction from 300DaysToGTA6 in is there any list of antialiasing? which ones are intensive and which are not
There's most likely dozens of lists of antialiasing scattered throughout the internet but a quick Google search brought me to this one which puts them in a pretty brief and basic explanation for each. Which is how I like to break things down.

Antialiasing intensity, for both performance and visual fidelity, is going to heavily fluctuate from game to game in both these aspects. Personally I like FXAA, MSAA 2x or 4x, or TXAA but again, the game title matters big time.

What I do is for almost each and every individual game I play is tweak the hell out of every single form of antialiasing possible in said game until I balance out both performance and visual fidelity to my personal liking. Sometimes I look up graphics setting guides for particular games that I either know I'm going to be investing hundreds of hours in said game or when I know there's most likely a graphic settings guide on said game.

Here is a perfect example that I used many years ago to help master the graphic settings of GTA 5. It even shows VRAM demand(different for each GPU so keep that in mind) for each individual setting. You can no longer click on the green hotlinks to take you down the page so in order to see each section you have to simply scroll all the way down to them. There are several more of these guides for games released around that same time period but finding them is not easy because most of their hotlinks have been taken down.

Here is a perfect example of another title and guide that's not easy to find. To find both of these guides I used Google and typed in nvidia (game title) graphic settings guide and these guides were literally the very first links. A nice nugget of very useful info right there. If you'll notice, these guides are on the official nvidia website but good luck going to nvidia.com and finding these guides from that main webpage. It's much easier to do the Google method I just mentioned. Not every game will have a guide but there's a lot that do.

Paul Rudd got a reaction from FIXXX in Classic Marathon FREE on Steam May 10th
Classic Marathon is FREE on Steam. It already has 100% Positive reviews from 35 people.

I'm pretty sure this is now a free to play game but it's not tagged as such so it's recommended to at the very least add the game to your library because it's also not listed as a limited time freebie, if that makes sense.

Originally titled Marathon, it's a first-person shooter game developed and published by Bungie, and released in December of 1994 for the Apple Macintosh. It's also been free on iPad(iOS) since 2011 and I doubt a single one of you reading this actually knew that. Along with both Marathon 2 Durandal and Marathon Infinity(still both free on iOS), which will also be releasing to Steam soon.

Paul Rudd got a reaction from 300DaysToGTA6 in what resolution is between 1920*1080 and 2560*1440 and also 4k and 1440p
Depends on the specific panel and what's specifically being portrayed.

I'll try to explain this below...

On my specific 1440p monitor the majority of games look excellent but a few games you can notice a blur distortion when putting this 1440p monitor in 1080p fullscreen. A quick fix for this blur distortion in these few games when attempting 1080p resolution is to play in windowed mode with the black bars on top and bottom of the display.

Ever since I upgraded from a 1060 to a 1070 though I don't ever need to run games in 1080p resolution.

So for you, at 4K games are going to eat your fps simply because there's way more pixels to render than 1440p so instead of upgrading your CPU and GPU or downscaling to 1440p(where the blur distortion will show up in some games) I'd recommend buying a cheap 1440p 160-180 Hz monitor and use your 4K monitor as your second display. Here in the US you can find a great price of literally $150-$170 for a 1440p 160-180 Hz IPS monitor.

In the mean time, try more games at 1440p on your current 4K monitor. Some games you will find to look excellent and not have the blur distortion, but keep in mind that all monitors are different when it comes to downscaling.

Another thing is that certain games that you may have played on certain TVs with certain systems(whether it was a PC or a console) look even better on certain 4K displays because all displays also upscale differently, especially with certain consoles/systems. For example, I remember being completely blown away at how much better Battlefield 1 looked on my 4K monitor using a regular Xbox One S than it did on my 4K TV and one reason is because of how well the Xbox One S upscaled the specific game known as Battlefield 1.

Try this link and this link to see one aspect I just mentioned above when it comes to 4K upscaling. There's an enhancement and then there's a form of upscaling, which are two different things. And there's also HDR support.

It's these types of technologies that make what you see on different displays at different resolutions... different. So what I see on my displays might be completely different than what you see on yours.

Paul Rudd got a reaction from filpo in [UK] 7900 XT down to £629
Nice find, transient power spikes on this model look much better at 390 watts max and averaging at around 335 watts. A 750 watt PSU is recommended by AMD for an RX 7900 XT but unless you got some high powered CPU a 650W PSU is plenty. The GPU temp should be excellent in the low 60's but hotspot in the mid 80's(still good) for this particular XFX Speedster MERC 310 model. Noise should be pretty noticeable at 37-42 dBA so be sure to balance out noise if it's too loud and since GPU temp is excellent in the low 60's you've got tons of degrees to work with for a more quiet operation.

Paul Rudd got a reaction from 300DaysToGTA6 in why does every youtubers buy high end camera and still just upload non hdr videos.
HDR is out is my expertise, all I know about HDR is that there are many forms of HDR and most of them are pretty basic and nothing special. As for contrast ratio, it's also out of my expertise. I just remember there's backlight and dim light gimmicks involved in certain types of contrasting and that native contrasting is more important than those gimmick types of contrasting. I also remember a VA monitor has a higher contrast ratio than an IPS monitor but a VA monitor also has ghosting issues when it comes to high frame rate gaming. I definitely notice things such as washed out colors or blacks not being the deepest blacks on my current TN monitor but these are not things I invest a lot of time noticing so it doesn't bother me when I spot them.
