Depends on how much 1060 6gb cost used. Note that all 3gb cards never mined because the VRAM is not enough (a big plus for some), while used 6gb cards are always being used for mining.

If you want to play VR with the 970, it would be possible but in many games you would need to negotiate considerably with either the resolution or the quality to get playable framerates. The 970 is the card that went to court due to the "4gb" vram, so put that into mind, too. Hope this was helpful.

I would just upgrade your PC. At that price point, a desktop upgrade would have much better price to performance. Try get a Ryzen 7

PUBG developer Bluehole shared that 15 players have been arrested under charges of development and sale of cheating programs, as well as stealing personal information. 
Seems a bit severe. I wonder if these people truly thought that they'd get away with it.
Don't download cheat programs from China, kids. Or at all, really.

Check your CPU usage. Also do a clean install of your GPU drivers using DDU to remove them. 

Depending on your location and laptop model, even opening the laptop bottom cover can kill the warranty. If they allow you to open the cover, you still get warranty if you don't damage anything. Yes it's quite difficult to apply LM, however some retailers can help you to apply.

Gigabyte Aero 15X has the best battery life, but the new model runs very hot. Would not recommend anymore unless you willing to do LM repaste.
 
From early reviews, GS65 also has good battery life (though not better than Aero 15X), however it seems like it also runs hot. Need to wait for full, detailed review.
 
GM501 has improved cooling (inner temps still a bit high due to thin profile), however it has poor battery life.
 
Display wise, all options above are about the same image quality.
