spwath got a reaction from bob345 in I think I found my Major...
So, yesterday I went on a college tour at University of Hartford, who have an acoustics department. I decided to meet with them to learn more information about it, and it sounds great. Basically you learn all about sound waves, vibration, and more, and do a bunch of real projects around the community. I got to see the reverberation room, where a clap echos for 5 seconds, and their anechoic chamber, where it was dead silent. It was really cool. Also, in the brochure, I saw someone listening to Stax in the anechoic chamber. I wanted to try them, but they were not there. But it seems like the degree I want to go into, to pursue a future making speakers or headphones. Their students get 100% job placement, with companies like Bose, Harmon, and others. Ill apply their this fall, according to the grades, I should get in relatively easily.
So @SSL, we are getting closer to those free headphones i promised you when I start my own company...

spwath reacted to Volbet in Recommend me a fictional book?
I'm going to sound like such a snob now.
The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell A Song of Ice and Fires series by George R.R. Martin 1984 by George Orwell Animal Farm by George Orwell Awoken by Serra Ellinson Brave New World by Aldous Huxley You might not need the book recommendation anymore, but they are still good books, if anyone need a good read.

I like it.
Adds to my collection. I also have a Bulova Accutron Spaceview (which is cool, because it uses a tuning fork instead of a mechanical movement or quartz), a soviet Russian mechanical watch, and 2 cheap casios.
I usually wore the Bulova before, but ill alternate that with the Seiko. The Seiko is a lot more robust too with its 200m water resistance. Plus the timing bezel is fun to play with.

The gold is there because gold is soft, and insures a better fit. Or just to look premium. Either way it doesn't matter, that part doesn't cost that much.
More expensive than the really cheap toslink cables definitely can help, with better fibers.

Yeah, I suppose, plus I might have to worry about the hospital bills as well if some one hits me at more than 5mph. Very small with no safety features other than a seatbelt.

Trying to find original woofers, for best quality. I should be able to get a pair on ebay for around $200 if I am lucky.
