samunars got a reaction from WhitetailAni in How many cores for streaming video only?
Thank you for actually answering my question, I litterally said in the title I need it for streaming only, no gaming. It's really a debate between an i5 7200u (2c/4t with hyperthreading) or Ryzen 2500u (4c/8t) but I see your point.

I second this one as well. It does hit your budget, but it'll be a more enjoyable experience.
Except, if you read OP that is not relevant here. I'm also curious what i5 9th gen you think you could possibly get to fit into this budget.
^ It's just about multi thread gaming performance. Nothing to do with only streaming.

Go on ebay and buy a used cheap core i7 dell. Should be 200 something euro and be plenty.

(Sorry for the LTT style title LOL) When I saw the VAG segment of the video (3 hours late) I had to Google the Konami code. I was interested if a lot of other people had to Google it as well. Turns out, they did! While I don't imagine a lot of people google it on the regular, it appears the LTT effect is very much real.

Yes, I've done it before with a couple of Samsung phones from friends, I did it in a ceramic cylinder though.

Depends on the hair dryer, a heatgun if you put it long enough can burn a paper.
But maybe if you put it long enough the glue may melt down.

The LTE frequency bands in Europe are different from those in the US, but you didn't mention which country the logicboard is coming from?

samunars reacted to Jurrunio in warranty voided if I open laptop?
If you dont have to break any stickers, then you can do it without voiding the warranty. It's just like overclocking a CPU, Intel said it will break the warranty, but it's not an issue since they cant prove it. Laptop manufacturers use stickers' integrity to prove the laptop has not been fiddled with.

samunars reacted to bling in Deciding on a new monitor
I just got myself a second aoc monitor. Unfortunately there's a bit too much backlight bleeding on this one but I'm thinking to keep it anyway. I once returned an Asus because it the bleeding was unbearable.
Anyway the old aoc is pretty much all plastic but still works great, I just got the new one only to upgrade to higher resolutions.

Brand reputation and how overbuilt they are. For example, Gigabyte has lousy fans which spin slower and get loud at lower RPMs compared to Asus, or even just more expensive models from Aorus (Aorus = Gigabyte). They also run a bit hotter which means you arent getting mad overclocks on one of these. Still, it's good enough and makes up for it with the price.

samunars reacted to ScratchCat in Demagnetization of Phone Compass
It will not. Phones don't have miniature compasses in order to tell direction, they have tiny circuits / systems which are moved by a magnetic field and from this are able to deduce the direction.
This could not be affected by a magnet in the long term.
From experience from keeping my phone next to a 1.5 Tesla magnet for a year, no change at all.

Digital compass – The digital compass in a smartphone such as the iPhone acts like a magnetic-needle compass and its accuracy, just like a traditional compass, can be affected by a strong external magnetic field
Magnetometer – The magnetometer in your smartphone allows your device to detect the strength and direction of magnetic fields. It works with the digital compass but is also used by many other available apps. This particular gizmo could be susceptible to really strong magnetic fields.
short said
the big magnet will damage ur phone's compass/magneto meter, the small one will not
If your compass is affected your phone should display an alert. ( u can set it up )

samunars reacted to Pythons in Demagnetization of Phone Compass
The short answer is no.
The long answer is maybe
Firstly, it's quite difficult to 'shield' a magnetic field.
Secondly, I don't think that something designed for phones (that have 'compasses') would disrupt your phone too much.
You'd have to have a very strong magnet to start affecting your phones components.
Hope this helped!
