TopHatProductions115 reacted to Jtalk4456 in Notebooks Addition
I love the small details you've put into the notebooks and how you've had fun with it. But as someone with ADHD, I use my 3 bullet journals for everything. 1 for health, 1 for projects, and my main one for everything else. This will later be condensed, but that's not the point. Point being a lot of people with ADHD are very good at analytical thinking and tend to end up in the tech field, like me. I'd wager a decent amount of your audience is neurodivergent to some degree. Bullet journals are really good for people like me, where I can customize how I want to use everything inside. I can draw charts and graphs as needed, I can make them look good with the bullets and a ruler cuz I can't draw nice on my own. Bullet journals are really a phenomenal thing. I would love not only to support you guys again, but also to have a really awesome journal that matches my personality better and makes me enjoy using it more. If you can add a bulleted journal variant to the 2 designs you showed, I would love to get one. As it stands, I just don't use lined notebooks anymore because the bullet style is so much easier for my brain to work with.

I was banned from playing Kahoot in 5th grade since I used the HTML editor to change my name on my screen. Teacher thought I had hacked the school website or something

CS Labs, I realize customer service is a tough job that can test the limits of anyone. However, maintaining a professional tone is an essential core feature. And this tone from your discussion in the Reddit thread is entirely unprofessional:
"You seem to know and understand K5 PRO better than our research and repair teams who designed it and work with it the last 9 years. Still we will have to follow our application process and instructions because with these instructions we get very good results while with your application process you obviously got not so good results."
Snark and sarcasm immediately turns me off, and I would never consider buying from a company that responds to customers in this manner. Implying that if a customer isn't satisfied with a result, it must mean they are incompetent imbeciles? Yeah, I'm telling my PC friends to stay away.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Cs labs in Bricked 3060 During Repaste?
Dear customer. It is obvious that you hate our product so much that you have endless time to follow all posts on most popular forums about K5 PRO in order to share with everyone your bad experience, instead of spending a few minutes to actually try what we sugested to you. Unfortunatelly we don't have equal free time to argue with you since we wish to offer support to customers who are actually are using our product and do follow our sugestions. We pointed your mistakes and we explained how critical is to do everything perfect if you wish to get good results on new high end boards like yours. For other boards it is not a big deal but for boards where already manufacturer used best thermal material it is important to do everything perfect. So every time we notice that you might be missleading other users with your experience where you didn't follow our instructions we will have to point your mistakes so that people who are really using K5 PRO can apply it correctly. We hope for your understanding.

They even said in the video that they replaced the pads with this not the paste. This is the first death I have heard of. Looking at the application, there was technique issues with using too much.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Moonzy in Bricked 3060 During Repaste?
i suspect what happened is that u applied so much that the paste got in the way of the cooler achieving proper mounting pressure
perhaps your GPU die might've overheated on some part and died
or perhaps the paste pushed some SMD components away from the PCB, so when u wipe the paste away, make sure u dont throw any potentially unlodged SMD away too

Well you basically threw away any chance of a RMA repair/replacement now... so yea, lesson learned indeed.

This is going up there with some of the greats for GPU carnage. I can't even imagine what kind of damage you did. Next time, ask someone before doing something like this!
Best you can do is pull it apart, spent the likely hours cleaning up all that wasted thermal paste, acquire the properly sized thermal pads then report back here before any re-assembly.

Why didn't you try to RMA the card before attempting this... janky repair?
-
TopHatProductions115 reacted to Moonzy in Bricked 3060 During Repaste?
Bruh I'm not even sure if this is a late April's fool joke anymore
I don't even know where to start, but your card might be dead, I guess u can start by removing that paste
Did u also use that paste on your GPU? Is it supposed to replace thermal paste as well or just thermal pad?

TopHatProductions115 got a reaction from AcNothing in Windows 10 drivers for an AMD Radeon Pro V320
I just purchased one myself. I'll let you know if I find anything...
EDIT: There's practically no official driver support. It's basically a down-clocked Vega 64. Best bet for anything is probably Linux.

And also wow, never heard of that card. Pretty sure that's an OEM and was never manufactured in large quantities or sold outside of prebuilt systems at all. Cool!

Thanks for the quick reply and for suggesting contacting AMD. I'm not sure how well that will go but I'll give it a try.
I'd never heard of them myself until I ended up with a few of them the other day. They were inside some custom Google Stadia Lenovo P520 Workstations which was kind of cool in itself.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Munich44 in Experiencing Choppy Graphics (3070 T.I.)
Hello everyone!
I'm having an extremely rough go at my newest build. I have Windows 10 (Pro) installed and updated through version 21H2. I have the most current bios (1304) for my mobo. I have the most recent graphics drivers (511.79). I have uninstalled and reinstalled with pc resets in between driver installs to make sure I am getting as clean of an install as I know. I have hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling enabled. But my graphics just continue to stutter when in games that are worse than when I had my 1080T.I. Just ready to pull my hair out. I have built about 10 PCs for the last 22 years and never had a problem. But apparently all my chickens are coming home to roost with this one.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to TempestCatto in Windows 11 Microsoft account bypass
This should be pinned.
I don't ever see myself going to Windows 11. I will legit be switching to Linux permanently. But to be fair, idk what the fuck I'm gonna do for the rest of my family, so this is hugely helpful. Thank you.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Ratgrot in Windows 11 Microsoft account bypass
So after watching the 4th March 2022 Wan show's chapter "Windows requirement to log-in bypassed" where Luke describes using command line stuff to tell Windows to continue, I felt it necessary to post an even simpler bypass that I use at work.
Step 1: Get to the point in the first time setup where it asks to connect to the internet
Step 2: Connect an ethernet cable from your router/access point/etc. Use a USB to ethernet adapter if needed.
Step 3: Continue the setup until it asks for a Microsoft account
Step 4: Disconnect the ethernet cable and click the "back" arrow in the top left.
Step 5: After a few seconds windows will present a "local account creation menu" and ask "who is going to be using this PC?"
Upon this point you can create a local account as normal. I assume this is a fallback option for when your building loses internet during setup. But I can't see it being removed as large businesses like electronics retail depend on the ability to set up computers ahead of time so the customer can pay extra for one that is already updated and ready to plug in and use right away.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Arika in Think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after LMG?
it's kind of the opposite. BECAUSE they are dumping millions into swag, they probably don't have the resources to respond to Nintendo if they went full litigation.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Arika in Think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after LMG?
You're giving LTT fans waaaaaay too much credit. Not only would that mean they have to do something (the small overall number that would be upset by this), but you're also assuming that Nintendo, a massive multinational corporation based in Japan cares at all about some random fans of a semi-famous Canadian Youtuber.
Hell even a boycot of Nintendo by LTT fans would only last as long as the next release cycle of consoles and games.
-
TopHatProductions115 reacted to Needfuldoer in Think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after LMG?
Exactly this. Nintendo doesn't have to win, they just have to not lose long enough to starve the other party.
-
TopHatProductions115 reacted to Arika in Think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after LMG?
Nintendo wouldn't be "dumb" to go after them, LMG would be dumb to antagonize them and challenge them to go after them
-
TopHatProductions115 reacted to Zodiark1593 in Think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after LMG?
No lie, I kind of want to see an all out legal fight. Not sure if I want it to happen to LMG, but there’s few other creators with the resources to actually fight a legal battle.

Nintendo went after UFD Tech, a considerably smaller channel compared to LMG.

TopHatProductions115 reacted to Waifu4Life in Think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after LMG?
After watching the Wan Show, I was happy to see that Linus has dared Nintendo to go after him if he were to show how to softmod a Switch. Do you think Nintendo will be dumb enough to go after a YouTuber who can defend himself in court? Personally, I hope they do and that Linus wins, that would make such a huge precedent and would knock-off Nintendo's arrogance down a peg or two.
