basically this. even with a 4790K, some games (like Saints Row 2) will dip below ~40 fps regardless of the settings, and that's with an R9 290. having a better CPU will help, but as far as a "bottleneck" is concerned, i doubt anything major would happen.

what? broadcasting the location of a known speedtrap is illegal in some places? that's absurd! guess those municipalities aren't earning enough money with the high taxes, because hell if they actually acted to prevent incidents on the road...
 
anyways, if you're in the United States, i suppose this app would fall under a very loose definition of a "radar detector", which are legal almost everywhere.

That's a fairly ignorant statement kid. if someone truly wants to kill someone they will find a way, but of coarse they will take the easiest way first. Taking away guns will not stop people from committing murder, just like how making drugs and rape illegal doesn't stop it from happening, or prevent drugs from coming into the country. Banning guns will not stop criminals from getting a hold of them, they don't buy guns legally in the first place. People buy guns for sport, or for defending themselves and they have every right to defend themselves by any means against a criminal. The amount of people killed by guns in america is 2-5 out of every 100k, that is 9000 people killed by guns out of 319 million....which is .0028% of the population. Maybe if I showed the population killed by cars or obesity, you would want to make gasoline or forks illegal... A life lesson kid, sometimes things that aren't so bad are presented in a wrong light,and some lights just shine brighter than others.

I'm at work, so I can't spend the time looking... but I'm curious to know the amount of stabbings in Japan vs the US. I remember there being about 10x as many people killed by stabbings in the UK vs the US which was IIRC more deaths per capita in the UK than the US when including both guns and knives.
 
Banning firearms will obviously mean less deaths by firearms, but it doesn't mean there will be less deaths in general... There are plenty of ways to kill someone, the benefit to firearms are that they give a leg up for the less physically capable to legally defend themselves IMO.
 
FYI: I am a gun owner, owning about a dozen guns. I have never purchased any of my guns with self defense in mind though, all (including my AR15's) were for hobby or sporting purposes.
 
 
EDIT: Nope, Japan is just a crazy safe place to live... pretty impressive. Still wouldn't give up my guns to live there, I feel 100% safe where I live anyways (even without my guns). The only downside is the suicide rate is twice as high compared to the US, must be something people don't like over there...

Hey come on, guns have good uses too. Like hunting for example.

i have the same card (bought it for $330 through Amazon's Warehouse Deals). i don't have anything to say about it, other than it works and works very well. sure it gets a tad toasty at load (~80-85C in Furmark), but what graphics card doesn't?
 
then again, i have had it at stock, so i can't say anything about its overclocking ability.

that would make the console versions look like shit compared to PC and they dont want that, they want people to think that the consoles are amazing

Do something like this, if you ever played SimCity 2000 or similar, the quirkiness and parody could actually be a huge boon.

The performance of the 8 core AMD can't even compare to the Intel 8 core.

So, majority of us have installed a new motherboard and run into having to just install our operating system to accommodate the new hardware.
Well, I'm going to share a little trick that I know on how to be able to use the same OS install on the new hardware problem free.
This is something that I use personally and very often in a computer shop environment.
It's much easier to just do this instead of having to backup someones data, move it here, install the os, move it back. That sucks.

I only recommend this to users who are comfortable troubleshooting. 
I have never had an issue with the software itself. 
Used this hundreds of times.
Just better to be safe than sorry.
But problems can happen. I don't want to be responsible for someone messing something up.
So please, take caution when trying something like this.
It can always be fixed. Nothing a OS re-install can't repair haha.

It's a pretty simple .ISO called Paragon Adaptive Restore.
It was a free tool offered by the Paragon Software company up until about 2010 when they started to adapt it into their paid programs only.
I have contacted the company about distributing the software and they had no worries about it since they will offer a download to it if asked

Start off by creating the bootable CD.
I personally use the program ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com) to create my cd's.
Once the CD is booted, restart the computer and boot to the CD.
 
Make sure your current motherboard has been REPLACED with the new motherboard.
These are the steps to follow once your new motherboard has been installed.
 
1. Accept the end user license agreement by checking the box and hitting Accept.

 
2. Select "Adjust OS"

 
3. Select the Operating System on the drive.

 
4. Select which option - I normally choose Adjust the OS automatically.
4.5. I rarely have the use the second option.

 
5. From here you will see the software injecting and editing the proper drivers.

 
6. Paragon hasn't changed anything yet. It needs your permission to apply the changes, click Yes, Apply the changes physically.
6.5 After this do not interrupt anything and just restart your computer normally and everything should boot into Windows.

 
You will need to remove older drivers once in Windows and install your new drivers.

Agreed, although I'm still waiting for 24' or smaller 1440p monitors. We already have 24" 4K monitors why the heck don't they release 24" 1440p panels !?
I feel the sharpness added by the additional pixels would be negated through inflating the size of the panel.

Money and success doesn't make a depressed person happy, nothing we think that makes people happy does make them happy.

I live about 30 minutes away depends if the I-90 ain't clogged up
I did find some annoying things with microcenter though that probably apply to other tech stores like best buy as well
-Cables cost too much WAY too much
-Graphics cards are slightly over priced so I suggest just ordering one instead
-PSUs are over priced as well
Rest of the prices are awesome especially bundles those are just AWWW YEAHHH

This is completely normal - In settings you will be able to set how much of the CPU you will allow the rendering to use as well as how many cores - You can also do this through task manager and right clicking the process.
