are there any benchmarks to show the hands down part at 1080p?
i get this, i personally own a 1600 rig, got it before coffee lake, but is there any reason really to dish out extra cash?

simple question, most people will say the 8700k is worth the 2x price jump over the 1600 but i can only see benchmarks that show the 1600 performing only marginably slower than the 8700k at 1080p, is there any benchmarks that show a huge difference?

ImNotThere reacted to TrigrH in In Win 303 MSI Dragon edition
Building in the inwin 303 isn't beginner friendly you have zero room between the floor fans and the connectors on an ATX board.

Floor is the intake on this case, also the dust filter is bad (not fine enough).
This case must go on a desk.
If you plan to air cool the CPU, this is the wrong case for you.

    Best features though:
    GPU anti sag arm.
A full upper compartment for cables and PSU.
    Looks sexy as fuck.

ImNotThere got a reaction from TSL in What cpu would you need for a large scale gpu mining rig?
no its not, use any cpu that is compatible with the os youre using and that will fit in a mobo with enough pcie slots

(I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR OVERCLOCKING FAILURE, IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY)
now thats out of the way!
for CPU: download aida 64, cpu-z and cinnebench, aida 64 will validate the oc if left to run for around an hour and cinnebench will give you higher numbers when you oc to make sure you are gaining performance  and finally cpu-z to monitor temps
run cinnebench and note down score.
then go into bios and find advanced settings, go to cpu multiplier and bump it up by 2 or 3, for reference, for every 1 added to the multiplier is 100mhz, id push straight to x44 in the multiplier to give 4.4ghz, check if thats stable in aida after around half an hour, you'll know if it isn't stable as it will crash, not an issue.
if its stable, add another 1 or 2 to multiplier until it isnt stable, then add a little voltage, as long as you stay under 1.37v ish, you'll be safe for 24/7 use, people say 1.4v is safe but i never go that high.
if at any point the temperature in aida hits over a certain point(im normally happy at max 75 degrees) sort of 85 degrees is when it will start to throttle clocks to make it safe.
keep increasing multiplier until youre happy, remember to keep it under 1.37 for 24/7, most 8700K's hit around 5.1 ghz so goodluck!

as before, no responsibility blah blah..
GPU: download any oc utility you want really, i use msi afterburner (on an EVGA card for reference), GPU-z and download unigine heaven as your stress test, serves the same purpose as aida64 and GPU-z to monitor temps.
open msi afterburner and run unigine heaven in the background.
crank the power limit slider all the way across to make sure theres no power limits, change the temp slider to your safe value, this for me is 80, this is the value that it will start thermally throttling at
first i personally oc the memory then the core.
add +25-50 to the memory clock and watch heaven for a moment, as soon as you see artifacts bump the memory down by 50 mhz and thats your memory oc done.
for the core keep adding +25-40 mhz and watch unigine for a second or so again, keep going until either A-your temps go above your safe limit(i set mine to 80 degrees) or B-heaven crashes, if your gpu crashes and locks itself to a low frequency download DDU and uninstall the driver and reinstall the newest drivers and try again, try to go 50 mhz ish below the core clock where it thermally throttled or crashed.
GPU's are so dependent  on silicon lottery that theres no clocks that i'd be willing to say you should hit
    again, goodluck!

not sure if this is what you meant but 10% in 20% is the same as 50% in 100%
i can guarentee without quoting numbers that the failure rate is NOT 50% otherwise no one would risk it

let people cool however they want its the same kind of thing with overclocking, its a known risk and people take it

ImNotThere got a reaction from Jurrunio in Which GTX 1050ti should I buy?
gtx 1050 ti is the code name for the gpu
nvidia give the 1050tis to companies like evga, msi, etc and they make a graphics card with the gpu

for all intents and purposes, ti means better

all gtx 1050tis will perform within 4 or 5 fps of each other, youll find that you might not get 80 fps on higher settings due to your cpu not being great

tl:dr all 1050tis are the same, get the cheapest one

ImNotThere got a reaction from PerfectPlasma in 580 vs 480
to understand this you need to get supply and demand
also understand that the 580 IS for all intents and purposes, a 480

right, 480s essentially arent made anymore so demand is high (of course) and supply is low as explained

same deal with 580s, but 580s are being produced so the supply is stabilising meaning they can be sold more frequently for a lower price

    hope that helps

the only issue with itx is you oay for form factor unfortunately...
regarding psus, it only supports sfx, if cost is a large concern i would build micro atx or a larger itx case, i havent had any experience with any other itx case so i cant reccomend but im sure someone else can

venture into itx! the node 202 is great and good ol bitwit hacked it to put an aio in it! or just air cool it as ryzen dpesnt kick out too much heat and the vrm heat isnt too much of an issue

also node 202 supports full length gpus with the air cooler

lmao, you must play league, 2000 is a well binned 1070, the amp edition 1080ti is dog poop at cooling so i have no idea about temps, memory is however high you take it

youre asking for a definitive answer on clocks when you are litterally playing the lottery, each 1070 will oc differently, you can crank that temp slider higher if you feel comfortable

    that useful for you?
