Water cooler capacity

Go to solution Solved by Crunchy Dragon,

Yes. FCLGA1151 is the same as LGA1151. Not to mention all the coolers that support LGA775 will support LGA1151 as the mounting points have not changed.

On Intel ark the i7 8700k has a fclga1151 socket, however, I can only find lga1151 water coolers will it work?

FCLGA 1151 is the same as LGA 1151, the latter is just a sort of abbreviation.

Flip-Chip Land Grid Array is what it stands for, plus the number of pins in the socket.

I have an 1156 board, theres a reason it also has 775 mounting points.  They are not compatible.  All 115x are good to go but not 775/771

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious
