i know that hardwarecannucks and pauls hardware and all of those other tech channels, even linustechtips, that they all have recommended the hyperx cloud at least once, because they are the top dog of headphones in the low budget part.

Lmfao, this is just a fraction of headphones that are good for gaming and you ought to explain what sonic properties are important for gaming when you call this an "ultimate guide".

Open-back and semi-open-back mean that the earcups have perforations/openings that allow sound to freely pass in and out. The benefits are generally a larger soundstage and better imaging. Soundstage is perceived space and environment of sound, it's distance to sound. Imaging is direction of sound. If your ears tend to heat up, open-back may also help mitigate this as it allows more airflow and heat to dissipate.
Closed-back means the earcups have solid shells that attenuate sound from passing through.

Except most of the time the mixing is really one-dimensional.

Yes you only need at the minimum 2 channels. No that doesn't mean you automagically get a "surround sound" experience.

You two? The headphones I recommended are much better than the Cloud / Cloud II / CloudX. Add one of the mics and they cost the same as the Cloud II in total. Ok at best? That's seriously worth complaining about someone else's comment over?
