Just think this will help others. If you want to use any oem PC like those bought off the shelf for freenas or any other os than the pre-installed os you need to tinker. All you need to do is open the BIOS then disable secure boot and enable legacy boot. After that disable the boot devices that doesn't apply to you and move the one you want to the top. Then reboot. If that failed then you need to enter the bios again and enable custom keys and clear keys. Then reboot. If this still hasn't worked do a sanity check and make sure you have a good iso and that it's selected. Then continue to tinker with combinations of these options. Worked for my server and many of the PC's I have to deal with at work.

Have you ruled out that it's not the monitor that is the issue?

I've taken entire desktops in my carry-on before. On one occasion, a desktop was my carry-on. I've gotten some weird looks and was once asked to open up the desktop so they could swab the inside (funny story all by itself), but it's never been a problem.

Looks like proprietary bullshit.  Not sure what it's called but a Radio Shack or Frys should have them.

Looks like the design Kailh Box switches use, but I don't doubt it's a Chinese manufacturer copying being inspired by the design of those switches.
Check around the stem (blue part) of the switch; usually the manufacturer's name is branded on the switch itself.

im using ddr3 at 1600 and its ok my limitation is my cpu its a E3-1245V3 and its a little slow even though its haswell so something newer would be nice. But any speed higher than 1600 is fine freeNAS and servers for your use case care about capacity more than speed. Plus if you go ecc which you should you won't find much over 2333

If they are similar in price, get the 980 Ti. It will perform about the same as a 1070.

X264 for better quality as it encodes on CPU. Nvenc for GPU encoding which is faster at a lower quality

Software = using your CPU, better stream quality but bigger performance hit
NVENC (Hardware) = using your graphics card, less stream quality but less performance hit

Given you have a 6 core/12 thread CPU, you could probably do Software without too much issues. Maybe experiment with both to see which gives you the best performance and best stream quality.

Got the drives and new hotswap Bay and took more time to put all the drives in than it did adding the vdev. I went from 500gb free to 7tb free. My first vdev is completely full and my second is going to be 6tb free by the end of the day lol. Thanks for the help everyone.

And I need to make sure the new vdev is raidz1 like the original vdev?
