Ashley MLP Fangirl reacted to ryao in Far Cry New Dawn Benchmark shows performance on Linux within 2% to 3% of performance on Windows
The kernel has been patched with a change that Valve proposed to increase performance and the latest release drivers have been used, so this is likely a sign of things to come rather than the current out of box experience with Linux. However, if more titles become like this with the latest changes, we could see a situation where the performance difference becomes negligible after they become part of mainstream Linux installations.

i think we should start showing how many times a user recieved an "informative" reaction or made a post that got a "solved" mark instead of postcount.

it will combat users posting a lot just because they can or posting inaccurate information. and it will help showcase how many times a user helps to solve a poblem.

i just got these 2 beautiful cards. the left one is a 9800GTX+ and the rigfht one is an 8800GTX. i got them for €25 including shipping.
i'm not sure what i'm going to do with them. i might build an XP machine soon and then the 8800GTX will go in that, but if i don't they are just for my old gpu collection.

when i pulled these out of the box my brother who is 14 saw the graphic on the 9800GTX+ and screamed "FORTNITE".... i've never facehooved so hard in my entire life.

An LTT Store ad in the middle of the video? are you actually for real?

look, i know a lot of people use adblock, and i know LMG have to make money, but like, here's the thing. i have adblock disabled on youtube. i always have and always will. so with this new middle of the video ad i have to view 5 ads per LTT video i watch.

    - the one at the start of the video
    - the youtube ad that pops up at the bottom of the screen
    - the youtube ad at the side of the video, in the sidebar thing
    - the ad in the middle of the video
    - the ad at the end of the video

i'm happy to watch ads to support the creators i enjoy, but this is getting a bit crazy don't you think?

Ashley MLP Fangirl got a reaction from Romano in why my old moms PC is detecting SSD as IDE drive?
it supports sata 3gb/s, which is Sata revision II.

my main system is from a similar era, and mine does this too:

so it's either Windows not detecting something or a setting in thew bios that's limiiting it to ata speeds, but you can check that. do a speed test and if it gets 150mb/s or higher it's running on sata. if it's 133 or lower it's emulating IDE.

nope. i'm the former owner. i've troubleshooted these stupid servers for literally weeks before i gave up, and i was gonna get rid of them, but then i talked with luke about it and he said he wanted them.

then, when he visited me to pick them up, one of them magically booted up. previously it was doing the same thing as it is now. so it working might have been a fluke. still, i think either the board or something with the psu's is wrong. it started doing this when it turned off on me when i was using it, and i think i overloaded something. i was using my GTX 690 with molex to pci-e adaptors.

it didn't blow up or anything, just turned off. the gpu is still fine so nothing was damaged, but i think i overloaded it or something. either way, the other server was never really stable. it had random bluescreens and thermal shutdown issues. it would show hdd's were overheating and then shut down when everything was fine.

what i think luke has done now is swap the stable motherboard of the overloaded server into the one with the good psu board to make one good one, that should be working fine, but it's doing the same thing it did when i gave up on them.

by the way i didn't scam luke, he knew all of this before he got them from me.
