Yes, but there isn't really a reason to get a crossover cable for it as it supports auto-midx, which means it can sense if it needs to swap outputs and such, so can use it in that situation.
(Basically it uses the normal ethernet cable like a crossover cable by changing what pins are for what, but can also still be used as any other ethernet card would.)

My personal experience is I've had my current Barracuda for almost three years and it has performed flawlessly.

Well, Devil's Canyon might be different as far as VRM so all those fancy power phases/cooling might really be worth it.
 
Z87 I would stay with z87-G45 or under. Devil's Canyon these motherboards might be worthy every penny for a high overclock. We can all hope for 5 ghz Haswell OC's and a Sandy Bridge like chip.  Even if you get to like 4.5-4.6 as a min on dual rad water that would be pretty darn impressive over many current Haswell's. 
 
Other than Devil's Canyon, nothing special here. If you got a low clocking z87 chip you might want to sell that system and upgrade though, if these clock like many are hoping. For those that got a decent clock on z87? Meh. 
 
I am hoping Devil's Canyon is 4.5-5.0 ish on a dual rad. Enthusiast priced builds should get enthusiast priced performance so I am glad Intel is making the Devil's Canyon chip. When you get a 250-300 dollar motherboard and a chip that does 4.1-4.2 on water...That ain't cool. Literally and figuratively.

gains. DDR2 to DDR3 was voltage drops and speed increases. CAS stayed the same
or higher. we'll prolly see 2400MHz DDR4 on CL15 and 1.35v. woot-woot!

4GB is enough. Even 3 is perfect for modded Skyrim

4gb is more than enough. 2 can sometimes hit the ceiling depending on mods. 3 you never quite hit it, even with an immense amount of mods.

I have a 7950 with 3 gigs of ram and I only ever get to 1GB of the frame buffer filled. I end up using more system ram than video ram with 113 mods.

If he modded skyrim that much to the point it used 4gb+ of vram, 7970/titan would struggle, A LOT. we're talking 15fps..

Don't get an unlocked cpu with an H87 chipset, but yes 650W is enough.

Bitcoin mining has become virtually unprofitable.  What you want to do is mine Litecoins, they're in the stage Bitcoins were about a year ago.  The difference being, there will be 4 times as many Litecoins.  The best way to mine Litecoins is to use an amd GPU, preferrably a 7950 or 7970 if you can afford it, with a very low power Haswell series CPU.  Keep the cost as low as possible and everything will be just dandy.  The most profitable thing you can do is buy low and sell high, a.k.a. speculate like a stock broker.

Yup, get a 280X, the MSI model would match your board, also red LED's would match more.

grab a msi 280x that will match your board instead of the asus 770?
 
and change the color of nzxt lighting kit to red, that would look killer and everything would match

You can find some good deals on ebay but alot of people try to scam people.

Ebay for electronics means nothing but trouble... by them at retail, for retail.  A friend told me his friend ordered 8GB of RAM from ebay for $300 (2 sticks of 4 2400mhz) and they were already dead... out of the box, they were second hand.  I would wait until Cyber monday or something and then rush and get your 780.  Or maybe you just need to settle with a 770.  Because I would NEVER EVER EVER by anything from ebay or trademe with a risk of it being dead on arrival. Sure, retail also has that chance but I wouldn't buy it off ebay.  My personal preference
