So I am about to order a r9 280X, but I cannot choose a CPU to go with it! I'm thinking of going with the FX 8320 but I am also considering the FX 6300. The FX 8320 is about $40 more expensive. I was wondering if it's worth it to save up a bit more and buy the 8320 or just go with the 6300?

8320 might be more future proof considering the new consoles have 8 cores

(new console ports will be optimized for 8 cores)

However no games really take advantage of all 8 cores...

Hope I could help!

I'm just planning to do some heavy gaming. I don't really video edit or anything like that.

Both are good. Depends on your form factor of choice and budget.
