It is if there's a warning label and manual that tells you not to. It's not the manufacturer's fault people don't read EULA's or manuals if provided.

Basically, unlike traditional phone screens, these don't have a layer of glass on top of the screen to protect it. Hmmm I wonder if this'll lead to "flexible" glass solutions

Sure go break some laws and claim in court you didn't know about them and see if that'll help ya out. Ignorance isn't a good excuse to be stupid (although if the review units didn't come with any manuals then that's a different story.)

Unless you have a very flexible screen protector, no you can't.

The warning label says not to use strong adhesives on the screen, so screen protectors are out the window unless they're as flexible as the screen itself.

I remember how people were tearing screen film from Philips LCD TV's, to a point where representatives sent us a bulletin to notify users they are not suppose to remove ANYTHING from the screen.

I want to know how much effort it took to tear it off the screen. If it was easy, then Samsung could partially be blamed. If people goes through excruciating effort to do it then bloody hell, get yourself a Nokia 3310, the old one.

Probably because they would peel Samsung's protection when you'd remove the protector at some later date. Makes sense.

Nah, teens with new S10+ are spoiled brats as well.

Problem is, that meme was made back when most of phones were somewhat reasonably priced, not just trying to catch Apple in price gauging.

Positive news? If you consider fishy survey with questionable methodology as positive news, I got bad news for you

In that case they would be planning to buy OG Nokia 3310. Smart phones guarantee no privacy, regardless if it is Apple or not

I'd be more interested to know how many of them have an iPhone right now.  86% may plan to make it their next phone but a lot can happen between a casually considered pipe dream and the reality of actually making a purchase or getting someone else to do so.  I can't tell you how many times I've planned to buy one thing but completely changed my mind after some research, which in this case could include functionality and/or price.  Hell at one point or another, I've planned to get an eMac, an iPod, and a MacBook, but ultimately ended up with something else in every case.

Yes they would still be spoiled brats. My family always had alot of money growing up and could have easily spent a stupid amount of money on things that me and my siblings didn't need but they didn't because they knew it would make us spoiled. My parents could have gotten me a brand new car for my 16th birthday but they didn't. Instead they got me an old pick up truck that had one door that only opened up from the outside and I had to drive all my siblings around in it and all I could think was "damn I am so lucky I get my own car". I saw other kids who had their parents buy them new Mercedes for their 16th birthday and all I could think in my head at the time was "what a waste of money". Spending that much on a kid when they are young gives them bad expectations about life and it really is harmful tbh.

Even then they probably won't care as much still. Shit when I was a teenager I wanted a blackberry because it was the phone to have, I didn't care about data privacy until I started working as tech support and seeing how people lose data in the dumbest ways.

Oh indeed, both the HD 5000 and HD 6000 series were good - though the 6000 was more of an incremental improvement over 5000 IIRC.

AMD has had plenty of awesome GPU's over the years. Go back even farther to the ATI days and they were killing it left and right with epic products like the All-in-wonder 9500 GPU/Capture Card (that series in general, the R300 architecture - was kickass). The x800 and x1800 series were also good.

My first ground-up build where I chose all the parts was built using the ATI x700 Pro (I wanted any of the x800 or x850 cards, but the x700 Pro was the best one the vendor sold).

My actual original ground-up build was done using parts my dad bought and chose (we had some rough guidelines, but I think for the most part he let the sales person give him suggestions) - that system was running an Athlon XP 2700 (unfortunately, not one of the coveted Barton chips that would OC like mad).

Kids, the Athlon XP CPU's were built using 0.13 micrometer process nodes (that's 130 nanometers). That means that the transistors in this CPU are literally 10 times larger than the transistors in the current gen Ryzen CPU's.

You must not remember when GCN 1 came out (Radeon 7000 series).

That GPU architecture lived up to - and surpassed all hype. It truly was AMD’s last kickass top-to-bottom GPU architecture.

They've made good stuff since then, but they haven’t reached the same heights as with Radeon 7000.
    7 years (Jan 2012), technically.

Anyone who's done the dive on the architecture at even the most shallow level is fully aware that from a pure theoretical performance standpoint Vega is an amazingingly good card that gives the best NVIDIA has to offer a real run for it's money. The issue is that because it's focused on the datacenter as an architecture a great deal of that performance can;t be utilized because of in silicon bottlenecks.

The whole point of Navi is to rework the architecture to remove those bottlenecks. So a Navi 20 absolutely could be that fast. I'd be impressed if it is, but the power draw and thermals should be rock solid relative to the performance. Vega is only so hot and power hungry because it's got so much silicon sitting there powered on chewing power, generating heat, but doing little if any actual work.
