That cheapo IPS? Yeah it's fine for gaming, especially games with lots of shadows.
 
I like the little magnet in the stand. The screen cleans up well too when it gets dusty. External PSU so it is pretty thin, which is always nice.

I didn't mean cheapo in a bad way, I meant very affordable. I truly know why there are $500 monitors now. The Acer is not perfect image wise to my untrained eyes.

Uh, ok. So first off, you should have no screws left after re-assembling your GPU. This is not Ikea furnature where having extra parts left over is all right. Do not use the card unless it is correctly assembled!! One lost screw means your warranty is gone for good. (I really hope you didn't mean you say you have left over screws)
 
65C is absolutly perfect. But you should have started with reducing the fan's speed with a GPU utility such as MSI Afterburner. Keep reducing fan speed and monitor temps while running a stress test until your core temp reaches 75-85c. Start a whole new thread in the GPU sub-thread for further info.
 
Do let me know what TIM you are using. Make and model. Arctic Cooling MX-4 is very safe and excellent quality. Anything other than diamond, silicon or galium based is what you want for GPUs.
 
I have heard of lithium grease. Not sure how well it works, nor do I know anything about it other than it's name... Honestly, your 3570K (at stock speeds) would run cool with tooth paste or even un-salted butter as the TIM.
 
Look into MX-4. Amazon would most likely be the cheapest, 5 to 8 USD. A small tube will last for almost ever. Too much is bad, if you think you don't have enough applied -perfect!

start, all programs, right click and open the startup folder. copy paste

I'm guessing what you did is went into the BIOS, turned up the multiplier, and left the CPU core voltage set to auto.
 
NEVER DO THIS.
 
Go into the BIOS, turn the multiplier back down to 34, set the CPU core to 1.3v, save that, boot into windows and check it's ok, then go back to BIOS, turn up the multiplier one step at a time until it doesn't boot, then turn it back down one and you're done.
 
Yes, this is a layman's guide to getting your overclock, but others will tell you what the maximum voltage is and such. 1.48 is far, far too much.

So, I did some more work on this yesterday. I did not take as many photos as I could have, but regardless...
 
Update 9: I love Dremels
 
To start off I cut some more holes into the bottom of the PlayStation. These were cut so that I can access the screws holding the motherboard in place without having to take everything out.

Unfortunately the hole in the bottom right did not turn out the greatest, but I cant really do that much about it now, so its fine. After that I reattached the motherboard tray, and grinded down the bolt holding it down, so that I can fit the actual motherboard on the tray.
 


Once that was done, I reattached the motherboard in order to see if the bolt was grinded down enough. When I did that I decided to just see what would happen , and I actually worked out well! This will probably be the orientation that I will end up having it, since It allows me to easily access all of the replaceable parts.



From here, I then started to cut out the back of the PlayStation so that the motherboard ports, and the back panel can fit.



There were also some inner parts that had to be cut out, and so I cut those too.



Additionally, Parts of the CD tray at the back had to also be cut.



With this section, I was a little too aggressive with the dremel, and so its a bit messy on the left side. I can't really undo it though, so I simply tried to make it look a bit better by filing it down a bit. Moving on, with the motherboard flipped, I now needed to cut out a space in the bottom so that the fan can get airflow through the bottom.



The picture made it not look the greatest, however I did manage to clean it up fairly well afterwards. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of this. Afterwards, I then decided to cut out the side pieces of the motherboard tray as they were not needed.



And then reattached it to the PlayStation.



Finally, I figured I would see if everything still worked and it everything fit together.



With everything put back together.



And then retesting it.



So, not even though that may be done, there is still more for me to do. I still have to finish the acrylic sheet, I have to order in some PS2/PS1 adapters, and get those hooked up, I have to attach the front controller piece, solder some longer wires to the power connector, and just simply clean everything up. I still have a lot to do, but at least I'm making progress on this again.

you will need your own bolts, nuts and plastic washers to make the mounting system work. figure out how much pressure and such...
 
best way to do this would be to delid, replace the thermal paste with coolaboratory ultra and keep using the ihs.
 
lap that ihs if youre really worried. youre already going to take 20c off with delidding, that extra 1c off will be cool
 
 
edit: either way, use coolabs paste for best results on bare die. regular paste for ihs

Buy a roll of 5050 LED strip, (or 3528 if you want less light). cut to length and much cheaper.
 
Solder on a 12V molex plug. don't worry about making it dimmer, just use less strip!
 
only light up the good parts, do not wrap led strip all the way around your case. you need negative light. one strip on top is perfect for lighting up vrm, ram and cpu cooler.
 
 
'Cool White' LED is what you want since you already have color matching parts.

To expensive, No idea why companies like this have such a high price. I make and sell LED's and so do a couple of people I know, and we are all cheaper than those companies.
I could sell the exact same as that for half the price.
My LED's are 20cm (12 housing with a total of 36 LED's), and only £6.99, and Shipping (within UK is £1, other places will be different).
