Face2Face got a reaction from Matias_Chambers in Max voltage for a 5820K
Your cooler will probably keep up at 1.30v-1.325v. I'm using the V1 version of that cooler and I have mine @ 1.325v
Most people will tell you 1.3v.

Face2Face got a reaction from PCGuy_5960 in How good is my ASIC number?
It's certainly not meaningless, but doesn't determine how well your card will OC.

Face2Face got a reaction from Trav_X in Kraken G10 bracket worth it for me?
GPUs don't output as much heat as CPUs? So a 250w TDP Video card doesn't put out as much heat as a 77w CPU? You sure about that?
To the OP, I would just grab a blower style fan and be done with it. While I like the G10, and have owned one before, I think it's not worth the hassle unless you plan on doing some heavy overclocking. Additionally, I have put a 240MM on my GPU, but the difference isn't much, because a 120mm is enough for most single GPUs.

I'd wait until the final product is release to make your final judgment. I don't think it looks bad at all, and it just sits inside your case anyway.

Still have mine..
I never owned a 3870X2, but loved my 3870. Very cool card.

Face2Face got a reaction from Guest in Intel Compute Stick Review
I found a good review on this product -
Also, if anyone wants to play Indie games on their TV, this is a great little stick. Awesomenaughts, Castle Crashers, Limbo, Nidhogg, BattleBlock Theater, Rouge Legacy, EvoLand and more are all playable at either 1080p or 720p. Also, Minecraft is playable at 720p, even more so with the Optifine mod. Also, source games, such as Portal 2, HL and HL2 are all playable @ 720p as well.
The Z3735F SOC has a Baytrail based ATOM CPU @ 1.33GHz and boosts to 1.83GHz. The Intel HD graphics are Gen 7, so based off of the Ivy Bridge Intel HD graphics with 4 EUs. All of this with an SDP of 2.2w and a TDP of 4W - 4W is shared with evertyhing (CPU/GPU/etc...)
The newer CherryTrail SOC, has very similar CPU performance, albeit with higher clock speeds, but the biggest difference is it's Broadwell based Intel HD graphics. It's faster CPC and has more EUs as well. I hope to see these released very soon, as the Surface 3 is the only product that has them now (As far as I know)

Face2Face reacted to winningsince1337 in Intel Compute Stick Review
This is a better review than the crappy video with Luke doing a bad job at reading a spec sheet and repeating himself for 5 minutes... Like we didn't understand the fact that an HDMI can be plugged into a TV the first time.
LTT has largely evolved from interesting and informative tech videos from the past years to now a large number of frankly disgusting videos where we see a poorly done video with no real content. I could learn more about the compute stick in 2 minutes from Intel's website than I did in 5 with this glorified crap.
The first 30 seconds is taken over by Luke making jokes that aren't funny at all. (Hence the large number of dislikes on the video)
I just re-watched the video and found that luke reminded us it's a computer on a stick 5 times and that you can plug it into an HDMI port 8 times... If you're gonna beg for likes at least throw some tests into the video rather than 5 minutes of rambling that anyone over the age of 13 could rectally derive in 20 minutes. Too much of Luke saying "I don't think it could blank" Did anyone even use the compute stick? Who knows because I doubt Luke did.
PS: Brandon's B-roll skills are the only thing that isn't shit in this video.

Face2Face reacted to sgloux3470 in GTX Titan to GTX 980/970. Is it a worth upgrade?
No absolutely not worth it. A 980 is slightly faster than a 780Ti before overclocking. (After overclocking it's maybe 10% faster)
The only single slot cards that would provide a significant upgrade are the TitanX, TitanZ or 295x2. The hypothetical 390x may also be another option.
To be honest, you easily have another year or two of life left in that card. I would atleast wait to see how the 390x stacks up against the TitanX.

Face2Face reacted to Syte in GTX Titan to GTX 980/970. Is it a worth upgrade?
Not worth it in my opinion. As your venerable Titan is very strong already. I would personally look to overclocking if you wanted more performance as the Titan can have a whole whack-tonne of performance gained for free due to it's extremely underpowered factory clock settings and the denial of AIB partners to ship the card overclocked at all.
With water the GK110 Titan is an absolute monster, you'd be looking to pay a lot of money for not much more performance. The 980 would be a slight bump, but not a large one. Also I'd take a Titan any day over a 970's neutered and locked GM204 chip.

Face2Face got a reaction from Tim Drake in Arctic Accelero vs NZXT G10 + H55 on 7950
Most definitely. I ran the Accelero at 100% fan speed while gaming, and it's still super quiet. Anyway, good luck!

Cheers for clarification...
I was thinking originally this was the case... as I have a Kraken G10 and saw these 4 holes and thats all I needed to mount it..
Just wanted to make sure..

Face2Face got a reaction from SkilledRebuilds in Arctic Accelero vs NZXT G10 + H55 on 7950
Nope, reference PCB is not needed. The only holes the G10 uses is the four around the GPU (square) and the G10 bracket has three size settings, so it should work on nearly every late model GPU.

Face2Face got a reaction from Guest in Just got a GTX 780... thermal throttling in an R4 and proper positive airflow
Try another game or run a series of benchmarks and post your results; monitor your card with Afterburner to see what's going on. You're a PC Gamer, not a "Peasant" as you say, do some trouble shooting, it comes with the territory...

Yes.

Stop saying this, it doesn't become more true the more you repeat it. Minimum framerate is the most important aspect of smooth gameplay, and this is predominantly determined by the CPU.

There's no such thing as "too much for X resolution". There's always ways you can improve visuals.
-
Face2Face got a reaction from Razzaa in NZXT G10 with my GPU?
I'm confused as well. The temperature limit for a GTX 970 is 80c and then it throttles. Even raising the temperature limit within AB or precision X shouldn't work.
-
Face2Face got a reaction from Tim Drake in NZXT G10 with my GPU?
I don't have much experience with the newer Maxwell cards, so I don't know how hot the VRMs get. Perhaps my previous experience with High VRM temps causing instability is getting the best of me when it comes to Maxwell.
BTW - your wording
vram = GDDR5 memory modules
VRM= Voltage regulator module - composed of GPU, memory, and PLL phases.

Face2Face got a reaction from LegacyStijncat in Good Geforce GTX GPU?
No doubt it will put out heat with a TDP of 300w, but I doubt AMD will make the same mistake again with the cooler. Them using an AIO is highly likely.
-
Face2Face got a reaction from LegacyStijncat in Good Geforce GTX GPU?
What's your budget? I wouldn't recommend buying a GTX 980 now, as they performance/price ratio isn't very good.

Face2Face reacted to Sauron in Good Geforce GTX GPU?
If you really need triple DP go for a gtx 970. Don't even consider a 980, it's horridly overpriced. If you wanted to spend so much on a gpu you should get an R9 295X2, has all the DP you want and will wipe the floor with a 980 in terms of performance.
