Why? The 1700X is not worth it....

True.
However the 1700 is not bad for gaming, just not as good as a 7700K, while the 7700K is BAD for streaming. period.
a 1700 build is more balanced if OP is considering streaming, video editing, or doing any productivity work at all.

It won't be on par with X99 or Z270/Z170, but it would be just 5-10% slower instead of 10-20%. Still that would be good enough for those who want to do both gaming and content creation...

Also finally got hold of a Gulftown system, can't wait to put it through its paces
- Intel Core i7 980X
- EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI
- 6GB Corsair Dominator GT 2000 MHz CL7-8-7
along with other things such as 160GB Intel Postville SSD's and a GTX 690 (all for 250 bucks!)

agreed.
Ryzen 7 will never be on-par with the 6900K in multithreaded things, and will never beat intel's 7700K in gaming, unless AMD has developed FineWine V2TM . However, it's possible that it will get close, which is good enough for gaming, and better for streaming. Middle ground is usually the best.

It is the same. PCPer confirmed that with their Scheduler testing....

I am pretty sure, currently the p400 (non S) also comes witht those things. The only difference I can really tell is sound dampening.

No, the only thing that you have to do is update your BIOS....

Get open air and get a 7700K. The 6600K bottleneck them...

No. You need a GPU to get a display output....

I'd actually recommend a blower style card for the bottom slot since your case only has 2x 120mm exhaust fans, and open air in the top slot. I'm actually surprised that Antec manages to cram more fans into a similarly sized case (albeit-one that doesn't look any where near as good).

I think that you can find them on ebay for $250, so that wouldn't be a bad idea

Get the Blue then. You get double the capacity and similar speeds.
