Comment on my 1200ish$ pc build (my first ever build)

VicRik

Hi guys,

I will soon be building my first ever pc. Besides being very nervous about the building itself, I also want to make sure I got good parts. So if you guys could comment on that, that would be great. I will be using it for gaming and schoolwork mostly, with maybe some streaming in the future.

Thanks!

you can overclock a 1700 to 4 ghz, easily making it similar to 1800x.

so what?

7700K has no upgrade path to an 8-core or even 6-core.

1700 isn't BAD for gaming, just not as good as the 7700K. it's definitely good enough.

What did you change here? just the memory speed?

for Ryzen, RAM speed acutally does make a difference, because the infinity fabric speed is linked to RAM speed, so fast RAM = fast infinity fabric = better performance.

imagine somebody buying a car, and he says that he will be using it for commuting, and maybe in the future some racing. would you get him a Prius? obviously not, because it's not good for racing at all.

quick sync sucks, really low quality not a valid excuse.

1700 overclocks to basically the same speed as the 1700X and is cheaper.

The 1700 is unlocked, so you can easily OC it to the same clock speeds as the 1700X

The 1700 is not $28 cheaper:

no need to attack someone for having different opinion than you, using logic helps rather than pure hatred.

And the OP will game and may stream. I wouldn't compromise gaming performance "just in case I ever want to stream", but that's just my opinion...
