turing cards temp limit is 88, it'll keep clocking up as long as you have not hit PWR limit or Thermal limit, in this case you hit thermal limit

it's not overheating, not a problem, you won't cause any damage. Your gpu will manage clocks to stay under 88c - if you want proof, force fan low like 25% and watch it clock down hard. Set fan curve if you care to!

if you want to force it to run cooler, lower the temp limit to a temp you are comfortable with - but honestly its not worth it - its not a problem

Repasting might get you 5c if you're lucky, but again, it'll clock up and hit 88c again

    Build Quality.
This keyboard seems to be built with raging in mind when you get killed. It's heavy too, probably due to the steel plate in this keyboard, you could probably do some serious damage if you were to whack a burglar in your house with it. Thankfully the keyboard material is not glossy, it's my personal favorite - soft touch.

    Layout.
The layout is very standard - long shifts, long enters, F1 above 2.

    Size.
This keyboard is probably as small as it gets for full keyboards with the proper layout. It doesn't take up a lot of desk space.

    Looks
It is VERY minimalistic, especially if you were to change all the keycaps to blacked out ones. There are no logos visible looking while typing. There is a CM Storm logo on the back, nothing glowing in the face of you (i'm looking at you RAZER offering non-backlit keyboards with a glowing logo). This keyboard has no backlight (i always use frontlight , my eyes get tired when playing in dark)
    http://i.imgur.com/b5ptTnb.jpg

    Features
There is a function key with which you can use the media key combos - Play/Pause, Stop, Back, Forward, Windows key lock, Volume mute, Volume up, Volume down. And repeat rate adjustments (PS2 ONLY) - 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, in my opinion this is useless when gaming.

    Removable cable (braided too)

    Switching from membrane to mechanical.
I have extensively used cheap membranes and a Logitech G19 which is probably as highend as it gets for membranes. First of all the G19 isn't mine so don't attack me for buying such an expensive membrane. I had typed on a mechanical keyboard before, but it was a cherry mx blue keyboard. I couldn't afford to buy a blue switched keyboard - too loud as i like to game late at night. So cherry mx browns - first time I typed on them I was glad that I didn't buy blues. Personally I like browns better, but don't believe that bullshit that browns are silent blues. The tactile feedback is different, the keys are lighter to actuate, and the keyboard is NOT silent - quieter they are but compared to the G19 or my cheap one they are louder (not very loud though). From using the G19 I'd like to have at least a single macro row, but i understand the design of this keyboard so i don't really care (maybe a future DIY project tho), I'm not interested in the backlight since I don't play in dark and don't look at my keyboard anyways for me backlight is just a bling-bling to show off to your friends. What i would love to have seen is dedicated media keys, which would too be against the minimalist design, but really i don't really use those key combos since I have to use 2 hands for that. My typing speed has increased, I've managed to do a bit of touch-typing (I don't find it easy really, a bit of memorising needs to be done too since the bumps are not really that feelable - my brother tought it was a linear switch at first), though I find myself hitting a lot of wrong keys on this keyboard which is probably because my cheap membrane didn't have a standard layout and I think the keycaps were wider. My gaming experience has changed - feeling more feedback from the keyboard is awesome but it doesn't make you a better gamer.

    Final toughts
If you are a person who likes light keys, you should only look at browns or reds, personally Blues were already borderline weight (I could get used to them). As far as the keyboard goes - If you wan't a minimalistic keyboard with some features, great build quality and price this one is definitely worth a look good look.

magic reacted to MG2R in Howto: create your own linux home server using Debian
Warning: Debian 8 just rolled out with systemd. Because of this, there may be stuff in this guide which doesn't work as described. This guide was written for Debian 7. Most of it should still work though...

As promised before to a few forum members. This will be my beginner's howto about creating your own home server. This howto is supposed to be understandle by non-linux users and beginners. You will have to have a basic knowledge of what a computer is, what files and folders/directories are. You'll need basic knowledge of networking (knowing how to connect computers to a router and knowing what an IP-address is, is enough). You also need to be aware of the difference between a GUI (e.g. windows) and a CLI (e.g. MSDOS). If you don't know the last one: try the following. Press windowsflag+r, this should open a screen which lets you enter a command. In this screen, type 'cmd' without quotes and click OK. This will open a command prompt. That a Command Line Interface (CLI), there are no windows, there is no cursor, there is only text :D

I'll be covering and explaining everything I do on my server. Because my server will have to be in a different place as yours and will have different name, you should always substitute the following:
simon, with your own user name brol3, with your own server name 192.168.1.150 with the IP-address of your server
This will be a howto for a headless server, meaning that no monitor, nor a keyboard will be connected to the server during normal operation. Only during installation you'll need a monitor and keyboard. Because of this, I chose a CLI installation of Debian, I don't need any GUI (graphical user interface).

I'll be putting the topics I'll be covering into different posts (comments) and linking to those in the list below, that way this doesn't turn into a MASSIVE single post.
Installing base system Logging in for the first time Linux basics Setting console resolution Setting up a static IP Installing SSH and other handy dandy utilities Creating a RAID volume Creating (+formatting) regular partitions Creating (+formatting) encrypted partitions Mount a partition at boot Set up a file server (windows shares) Installing a web server Making your webserver secure (HTTPS) Installing phpsysinfo Setting up personal cloud storage Setting up Webmin Setting up SABnzbd+ (usenet client) Setting up Virtual Machines (Virtualbox + phpVirtualBox) Setting up a torrent client (Transmission) Keep in mind that I'm NOT an expert, I'm simply a very interested guy that did a lot of googling and fiddling since he was 12. If anything isn't clear, or if you feel like there's something wrong with what I'm doing/explaining, please feel free to tell me and I'll do my best to simplify/correct/adapt what I've written.

    I hope this helps someone.

PS: this is a work in continuous construction. The topic list above may always expand and my howto below may always change as I find other ways to do things. If you feel like something is missing, feel free to post suggestions.
PPS: for those interested, you can find the build log of this server here

magic reacted to Morfy in How to properly set up Speedfan
By popular demand, i bring you the ultimate, most utterly good, extremely helpfull, full of usefull info,
(ran out of atributes) guide on how to properly set up Speedfan, with the option to turn your fans completely off,
just like Linus' M-Cubed T- Balancer.

    Where to download:  http://www.almico.com/speedfan449.exe

Please watch it on youtube, so you can like and subscribe if you want to

Here is the written version, a little bit longer than the one in the video:

       1.  First off, you wanna download the installer, from almico.com/speedfan.php. After that is ready, open it, it installs very easy, next next next style, and then open it.

       2.  This guide will include how to set the fans up to a temp curve, and also how to completely turn them off. This was the feature i was looking for, because maximum silence.

       3.  In order to do this, you wanna set the control to manual, then turn all the fans down except one. This way you will be able to identify them, and rename accordingly in the *fans* tab.

       4. Then you should head on to the advanced tab, and check that the motherboard fan controlling hardware is selected properly. Also, manual mode must be selected for the pwm controlling options.

       5. After this, you will need to set the minimum value at which the fans should spin, and the max one in the *speeds* tab.

       6. Next up, you gotta open the *Fan Control* tab and set up a curve for each and every fan. Be carefull to select the mobo controlling hardware and according CPU temp probe, Speedfan recognises all the temp sensors and headers in your PC.

       7. Then, after all this is done, start a stressfull application, like Prime95, Aida64 system tester or intel burn test, to raise the temps and verify that the controlling suite works.

       8. After that, all you need to do is go in the startup folder ( C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup) and create a shortcut to Speedfan. Credits for this go to @cooperred (sorry i think i pronounced you name wrong in the video, still a shoutout tho ), thanks alot for this tip, it's been very helpfull.

Well guys, that's all, thanks for having a look at this guide, share it with anybody that is looking for something like this, also feel free to message me regarding any guides that you wanna see, through youtube message, or on facebook, my name is Vlad Nicula, or on twitter, @Techmorfy.

As you all may have known, Sony stated that the DS4 can work on the PC but no support for rumble, LED configurations and touch pad. InhexSTER, a member of the PS emulator forums have taken the initiative to make all of the features available to PC gamers. To put the hack on your PC is quite simple, his software is essentially a server that detects if a DS4 is connected, emulates that into a 360 controller and viola. As of right now, the client supports all features (LED config, Touchpad so you can game on a couch, etc) except for the speaker and the audio port even over Bluetooth which last time I checked, you STILL need a dongle for the Xbox One controller.

Enough talk, be sure to follow his post on the forums as he will update the hack

    DS4 To XInput Wrapper

Sadly on the Xbox side, the latest hack for the Xbox One controller is still in alpha and the modder is not yet confident to release it (I'd say go for it bc InhexSTER's mod came so far bc he had helps) and official drivers are grounded till 2014
