Yes, I would agree with this. Not just per price, but for performance.

 

EDIT: Just checked out a few sites that benchmarked, tested & compared these two. And their analysis showed that the 9590 is more closely correlated the 9590 as being in between the i5-4670K & i7-4770K. However, closer to the 4770K.

In Single Threaded Applications the i3 would wipe it's arse with the 9590

Clock for Clock, if you were to reduce the 9590 to 2 cores and 4 threads, you'd see what's it really like, would still use a shit load more power, etc

Go look up some benchmarks. This is close to the 4770k. Lower single core performance than the 4770k. the 9590 is just a factory overclocked 8350 I think. Its 220 watts. The 4770k is 84.

i dont care about synthetic benchmarks realy lol.

intel has better single core performance, so in single threaded applications the intels are better, wenn comming to multi threaded applications, the diffrences between the i7 and the AMD FX9590, are realy minimal, especialy in heavier render tasks and such. The only thing is if look at the price, then the FX9590 does not realy have a place in the market, because the FX8350 which is allmost half the price of the FX9590, and also allmost half the price of the intel 4770K, can be easaly overclocked to the FX9590 specs, and with the price in concideration that makes kinda sense. single threaded gets slowly abandoned anyway.

On topic - I'd like to buy one of these FX CPU's for the novelty of it, build a really nice custom red themed case and aesthetic options (bells n whistles) to make it look great and re-sell.

Huge fan of the underdogs that are AMD. While this CPU may have copped some flack, I think its an Awesome balls to the walls CPU (even if the market didn't need it)

You are right. The 8350 is a much better buy and makes more sense as it saves money. 

Per core performance is important as most games still dont use more than 4 cores at this point.
