It's fine. I overclocked my 6350 to 4.4GHz on the stock cooler and it was fine. Just use some aftermarket thermal paste, like Arctic Silver 5. I never saw my temps above 50C and it was mostly quiet.

the intel one isn't loud. its just rubbish, the amd one is ok, but that is loud. not loud unless your cpu is under load though.

I have an FX8120 but I'm sure it still stands, it's pretty quiet below 70% but as with any cooler it gets audible above that. Dead silent otherwise. Using it on Athlon II X4 640 server build

i runned a FX8350 with stock cooler over a year, what i can say about it, it cooles fine on stock speeds, but the noice is terrible under load.

I would advice to grab an aftermarket cooler, i see alot of people recommend the coolermaster 212 evo, this cooler is a littlebit better then the stock cooler. But its not that quiet either.

If you realy want a quiet cooler, then i would say grab a Noctua NH-U14S or a NH-D14. if it fits your case. those are realy quiet, especialy the U14S single tower.
