Yeah mining doesn’t kill the cards, what is a disappointing problem is what’s going to happen to them when mining on them isn’t profitable anymore (ship them all to me pls)

      Oh, no

Mining does kill cards, compared to sitting them on shelves of course

There's also miners who use low quality mining PSU, which may damage it if the psu's ripple isn't great

So far from my experience, mining has never not been profitable, the profitability drops but it was never in the red for me

But if my GPU does indeed become unprofitable and I finished my ROI, I plan on donating them (and accompanying full system, fully funded by the GPU mining of course) to local charities, or people who needs computer to study from home but can't

correct, i just meant its not like they're dropping like flies from mining. I sure hope that whenever all the huge mining warehouses decide it's time to close up shop they ship the cards where demand is high rather than just recycling them

  2. Agreed. The screen in my MacBook is just beautiful, and the fact that they’ve been doing them like that for almost a decade is incredible. It’s not the highest resolution but any more than it is in this size is just a waste, color is great, viewing angles are fantastic, brightness is good, and just giving it a good stare it looks nice to the eyes.
  3. The out header is for plugging another RGB device into it so it can be controlled by the same port as well.
  4. I have about 100 hours experience with the Volkswagen equivalent of this problem, and I find that it’s easier, cheaper, and faster to just pull the head unit out and replace it with a double din one. They make some pretty cool ones these days edit- dont worry about why it took me 100 hours to figure this out for my car. Not a fun process.
  5. Interesting. My MacBook has NONE, and unless there’s something I’m not aware of it’s an IPS panel. Maybe Apple is just picky and rejects all but the best panels, or they designed it specifically to mitigate the issue
  6. I’d sure hope so too. Don’t sweat it too much though, These batteries don’t just magically stop working. I see no reason why, in completely normal use, a battery wouldn’t last 4 years.
  7. Then it’s normal. Cheap panels are cheap panels, even my (slightly) more expensive IPS panels have noticeable bleed
  8. I’m Sad on the internet dude

bonus points if you know where that’s from

  9. I’m not 100% sure it applies to you, but I can say that my MacBook has only accumulated 10 cycles on the battery in the last year even though I use it daily, it just stays plugged in
  10. Looks about normal to me. Is it bothersome on a color image?

I don’t even know anymore, I test negative for celiac but not quite normal. I get put under the general umbrella of IBS, which is more a collection of symptoms than an actual understandable disease or disorder. I can’t properly digest dairy, fat in quantities more than about 20% of the meal, wheat products, garlic, most fruits (including tomatoes), most artificial sweeteners, and a bunch more. Lately though it just seems like nothing is safe anymore.
  12. It should probably work (depending on the specific hub) but it would likely be cheaper to get a longer cable for your external hard drive
  13. Then that’s probably your issue. Move a different device to the hub and move the drive to one of the ports on the motherboard. Pretty much anything that isn’t charging something or spinning a motor shouldn’t draw much power these days
  14. Sometimes with this stuff I find it’s easier to just use the Microsoft Windows reinstall tool thing that keeps your programs and files where they are than to track down and fix the specific part of the OS causing issues.
  15. Is this external hard drive USB powered or externally powered? The USB connector can only provide so much power and if it’s powered by USB there’s a good chance you’re over the limit
  16. I’m not an expert anymore, but to me this sounds like either a power supply issue, an OS issue, or a motherboard issue. What power supply are you running? Can you try booting into a different OS install (a live copy of Ubuntu on a flash drive would probably work)

I’m allergic to pineapple and I can’t really properly digest any of the ingredients of a typical pizza, but pineapple sure does belong. Anything that makes the flavor more vast and complex is appreciated in my eyes.

I really have to wonder why do laptop manufactu…

This is why I bought a Mac. The trackpad is nice, but knowing that no matter how bad I completely screw up the OS install, I’m literally a handful of clicks and a few minutes from everything just working again is nicer. Windows laptop support sucks. Mac sure isn’t cheaper, but I can tell you 100% that no matter what happens I can have it up and running again tomorrow.
  19. Everything I want to do or buy is either illegal, unhealthy, or expensive out of stock

Yeah downtown Portland isn’t great unless you’re in a very specific mood. I’ve met both the kindest and the worst people there

very true, my moms friend and her kid were held at knifepoint against their car by some homeless dude, that kinda draws the line when it comes to not going to Portland

  25. I almost got assaulted today by a group of several people. If they had wanted me dead, I would have been dead, but thank something they didn’t and I’m ok without any physical altercation
