  1. M.2 has multiple keys, made to avoid customers from accidentally shoving incompatible modules in an m.2 slot. For storage, there are 3 common ones. B Key, M Key and combination (B+M/M+B).
  2. NVME AICs usually dont care about the compatibility as they usually just bifurcate the pcie lanes theyre plugged into to a bunch of M.2 slots thats on the AIC. Same with M.2 slots on the motherboard, as long as its sized correctly with right keying it should work.
  3. +1 on the Vivobook, easily. More ram, better CPU, a WAY better trackpad drivers (most asus vivobooks i know nowadays run windows precision driver which is amazing piece of software) and a better build quality. I wouldnt use both without cloud storage, but for typing box? asus would suit ya better.
  4. Bachelor from what degree? I would go with the usual amazon gift cards if he's into online shopping.
  5. Yeah, unless you wanna flash its onboard memory and only have 1 profile. Wireless hybrid claws are hard to find imo, and its not my expertise (have been claw since 2017 and never looked back)
  6. Its either going to break soon, or youre in the small lucky few. My point still heavily stand on synapse though, thats one buggy PoS.
  7. Number 1, youre going to run 2 softwares instead of 1. Number 2, youre going to experience 2 of THE MOST BROKEN PERIPHERAL APPS EVER CONCEIVED ON EARTH. Synapse crashes a lot and super invasive to your system (hell, linus encounters it popping up during windows device preparation), Logitech G Hub installation is pain if it even start at all, and updates can bork both of them.
  8. I gone back to minecraft today. Mostly just grinding hypixel arcade and quakecraft, but i decided to sidetrack myself by getting a skin of Gris.

Issue? There werent any, big surprise. So i have to do a from scratch build of the skin, and after 30 minutes of wrestling to find another way besides 3D mapping in photoshop (my plugin for that is borked for some reason), here are the result.

Its been SO LONG since ive made any skin so dont go rough on me. Imo though im happy with how it looks.

  9. But the G933 is a wireless headphone, there's no benefit of going to XLR if your native connection (the one that manufacturer uses out of the box)is not XLR in the first place. imo G933 microphone IS mediocre and not much can fix it. It sounds like a tin can telephone. If you want better audio then you do wanna have a look at XLR microphones, a shure SM58 with a behringer UM2 amplifier is a good starting pot of XLR mics.
  10. Tear them all apart, use pressurized, non static air, and then change the thermal paste and pads on the system. 2nd best? Just omit the full teardown, clean the CPU coolers and the GPU. Dust everything off with pressurized air.
  11. Is it glossed or satin/matte? Optical sensor hates the former a lot.
  12. Couldve gotten the white steel legend and a 5600X, and paint the shroud on your own. But everything is already done, so its what it is.
  13. Is NiceHash safe now? i know that theyre basically scum to the crypto community but would they still steal my bucks for the laughs?

Exactly my issue, and i dont know which algo to use, coin to mine, and what wallet to run.

I just want a way to offset my game purchase to my parents, not accounting (almost failed both of my accounting class in uni)

Well, mining algo still carries the same risk

This applies to almost every software in your PC, anyways

So far nicehash have been safe, whether they're scums or not is still to be seen, they may be overly cautious since the last hack, who knows

Maybe dual boot to linux environment to isolate nicehash can work? By this point im spitballing.

You may have to remove access to your files and what not if it comes to that

Imo, if you're not willing to run sketchy softwares on your PC, best not to do it

Especially if you do sensitive work on it

  14. Very. For me i put the threshold for "hot CPU" to be at about 85°C.
