I use the SHP 9500 with a modmic 4.0  At least I did until my infant son pulled the mic loose and used it as a pacifier, now I'm looking for a replacement

"Over hyped". Try slowing yourself down from a high rate of speed in the wet down a mountain trail, and tell me how well your v brakes hold up.

Tektro is fine. They're not the highest brand, but they're still a nice upgrade to something that would come stock on an entry level bike.

Your elitism is rather disgusting. If he's on a budget, and that was the bike that was within his budget, so be it. You don't have to ride an expensive bike to enjoy yourself, and if it's just for A to B transportation, a cheap bike is frankly more preferable.
At least he's out there riding.

air is lazy and only uses airflow paths created by the fans. so air really won't 'bounce' from the rear i/o as the rear fan will guide it to the exit.
the idea of the HSF is to take air coming in to the front and discharging out the rear. placing a fan directly above will change that flow path and potentially rob from the HSF.

It can help overall temps if the rear fan isn't enough to vent the combined heat from other components like the GPU--depends on the specific configuration.
Having a similar config with a top exhaust in my Define S results in lower temps with very low rpm noctua fans.

you shouldn't need to replace the cables if they're not fraying or anything.

I used the SHP9500 for gaming, superb at the price point. Haven't heard any gaming headset coming close to it especially in the same price point.

HyperX Cloud core / cloud 1, is an alternative, better than most gaming headsets out there but still shp9500 is better than it..

No idea how Jet is offering it at 50% off from the normal price of $160, but it looks legit. If you're doing a new build or want to upgrade to 16GB, now's the time to do it. I haven't seen another kit of DDR4 with better timings regardless of their frequency and the price right now is on par with the cheapest 2400+Mhz kits I could find.

You're likely using WASAPI if that's the case. If you don't want other programs to break after a listening session, you'll have to hit the stop button instead of the pause button.

Hmm. So you'd say just hearing the extra bass is an accurate description of a bassy headphone and that it's unlikely anyone means "it shakes your head?" I don't necessarily want it to do that, I'm just kind of a surprise to not really feel any of it at all.

Just tried bumping up the 60Hz in VLC all the way and at full volume. Barely feel it. Tried the same song on my phone and it just seems like the bass is more drawn-out, but I don't know about heavier. I think I'm just used to my old stereo that had four big drivers and crossed over at like 140Hz and drew the bass out a lot. I think I might just need to get used to the shorter and more accurate bass the M-100s have and hearing it more than feeling it.

Well, I hate to tell you that you can't really "feel" bass with headphones.

I guess if you have that much of an apatite for bass, try to find a used Sony XB-500 headphone. However, the M-100 is already very bassy, so my guess is that headphone bass is not for you.

Try using an equalizer, or just turning the bass up. Have you tried on another device?

Awesome pair of headphones that usually cost around $200-230 on Amazon but one of the colors is down to $163 right now and it's by far the lowest I've seen them. No idea how long the sale will last so you'd definitely want to buy them as soon as possible and if you've been looking for a closed-back, great-sounding (but not neutral), stylish, and great build quality pair of headphones I'm sure these won't disappoint at all. I've heard pretty much nothing but good things about them and there really isn't any competition for what they're priced at right now.

If you buy the headphones I'd recommend buying the V-MODA XL memory foam ear pads as well which really improves the comfort level.

Also, Amazon is amazing. If you end up not liking them, you can return them to Amazon within the first 30-days no questions asked for a full refund. Amazon even covers return shipping. So if you wanted to get these as a Christmas present and the person receiving them ends up not liking them too much, you have over two weeks past Chrismas to return them for a refund.

I just purchased the headphones and pads for myself and I'm so excited for them to get here

Only thing I'd recommend is to initially apply the clu to different area like a clean plastic container. I've encountered times where it will literally shoot out of the syringe with the slightest bit of pressure and you don't want that anywhere it can touch components.

Beyond that, if you are going to use silicone to reattach the ihs then I'd recommend to actually mount the cpu in the socket of the motherboard to hold it down tight.  I'm not sure if the delid tool would do this or not. Lots of people don't even adhere it, they just set it on top and hold it while latching down the arm.  I've tried both and had good results both ways.

I don't remember if skylake has fivr but I think they do not. Haswell has components next to the die that most people cover with liquid electrical tape to prevent shorts. I don't think skylake has them though if they do you should probably cover them.

Also I believe that clu is preferred to clp. It's got the same thermal results and is easier to with with. Thermal grizzly's conductanaut is good too. None of them are supposed to form a permanent bond but I have heard of it happening, mostly with clp but also clu. Lots of people use them though so it's hard to say how likely it is.

You can apply to both die and ihs but the most important factor is how much is used. Too little and it won't properly fill the gaps, too much and you've got electricly conductive beads rolling around your pc.  You want a thin layer, I usually do both Ihs and die.

Overclock.net has a great delidded club that's full of useful info.

I agree with everyone else. There's no real reason to go from crap to mediocre with the PSU. Get something good. The EVGA G2 PSUs are fantastic and this one at a great price right now compared to all the other PSUs I typically recommend.

Definitely add an SSD to your system as well. The MX300 275GB is a great choice and not too expensive. Please do some research on SSD vs HDD and you will 100% agree with me that this is the single most important upgrade you could possibly give your computer with the specs you currently have. You will notice a significant performance boost for your OS, the load times of your games, applications, and basically everything else that has a load time, as well as the boot time of your OS by more than double the time reduction. With your current setup, it unfortunately looks like you might need to either reinstall the OS or move all the larger files to a secondary drive until the total spaced used up on your current OS drive is ~260GB or lower so that you could clone it over with software and not have to reinstall Windows.

Your RAM is a very good choice, but you could get away with buy another stick of the same stuff (frequency and latency) if you're okay with the speed your current set has.

And if you're running on a cheap little cooler or even a 212 Evo, upgrading to a better cooler and putting a better overclock on your CPU should help a bit. If you want the best performance for as little money as possible, the Scythe Fuma is the only choice. If you want something with a bit of style and a bit less performance, try the PH-TC12DX_BK or the H5 Universal if you can find it over there.

Not exactly sure, I bought those fans because it's the same manufacturer as the fans that are in the switch already and some people complained about other fans requiring extensions to get the wires to reach.
