MattShnoop reacted to Middcore in Old motherboard compatibility with Xeon chip
They are. FCLGA stands for "Flip Chip Land Grid Array." The "Flip Chip" part refers to part of the CPU fabrication method which isn't really relevant so most people just say LGA.

25:00 in today's vid. Might wanna get the merch team to close the top of the O in the orange .com on Jake's LTTSTORE shirt. Or is that LTT OnlyFans merch?

MattShnoop reacted to minibois in What cable is this?
Oh haha. I kinda asked what motherboard 'you' have (or I guess your friend has), so I could check where/if it has this connector.
So if he won't connect it, keep in mind the USB Type C port on the case won't do anything.

I feel like they just hire interns and fresh college grads to do everything except upper management while upper management swims in a vault of gold coins Scrooge McDuck style.

MattShnoop got a reaction from Tabs in Singe pixel line along top edge of maximized programs
So uhh.... I switched back into Normal Startup (everything in selective is enabled, as is everything in the Services tab) and... It's fixed itself now? This makes it pretty hard to diagnose what was causing it ?
If it comes back I'll resume from this post and update you farther. ??♂️

It's unlikely that a built in Microsoft service is causing this, so the best way to find out which is which is to enable everything on the general tab > selective startup, then switch to the Services tab and tick the box "hide all Microsoft services" at the bottom.
What's left should be disabled one at a time, with your least known (or least used) services first, until you're able to determine which is causing it.

Was Spotify acquired from the Store? or Spotify website?
To me it looks like you have a program injecting stuff in your programs.

MattShnoop reacted to GoodBytes in Singe pixel line along top edge of maximized programs
Try uninstalling Spotify, and installing from the Store. Does the problem happens with iTunes acquired from the Store app?
-
MattShnoop reacted to Tabs in Singe pixel line along top edge of maximized programs
As @GoodBytes suggested, it sounds like you have something running injecting an overlay onto your Win32 programs. Apps from the store can't be interacted with in that way, which makes them immune to it (which can be good or bad depending).
The symptoms you have are almost identical to ones my partner had on his machine - he has an ultrawide monitor and it came with window management software called Screensplit that exhibited the exact same problem you had whenever anything was maximised.
Check to see if you have anything similar. If you can't find anything or don't believe there's anything, try running in Diagnostic Startup mode to see if it persists. If not, it means some part of your standard load order is causing it and you'll need to find which one.

If creating picture etc. arrangements is difficult, you should use canvas. Its kinda like having large picture frame and inside you can have more options to move things around. While frame itself acts like picture.

True, there are only so many differently-spelled words... If I don't see any other solutions posted that's what I'll do.
Obviously I'd still prefer it if it was in maple syrup mode instead of bald eagle mode.

MattShnoop reacted to LinusTech in What’s up with Luke?
Flostplane Media is going to be a separate company with Luke as the Chief Operating Officer.
That transition is currently in progress. He has a space in the existing LMG office out of convenience because leasing something for them elsewhere would be an expensive hassle and we have the room for now.
But the intention is definitely to have FPM separate from LMG sooner rather than later.
I don't think Luke intends to abandon WAN show anytime soon, but most of the daily content has been off his plate for months now.
I have no comment on the share structure of either company.

Solution: Kill Cortana.
I actually got it to work. Really scrappy way to get it out, but I think I finally actually deleted cortana off the system.
The problem is when I did that there's no search function in the start menu

Get adw_cleaner.
It used to be private and now it's owned by malwarebytes, and for all my problems it's worked wonders.

Easy DIY switch, we've talked about many times already. Look up 16mm anti-vandal momentary non-locking switch on ebay or aliexpress.

Or the Dell U2515H (tftcentral has a nice review).
But probably all 3 models mentioned here have a similar Panel.

It's nice but doesn't have a VESA mount, if that applies at all now or in the future.

Oh! I didn't try another PC yet, but I tried switching which USB ports they used... And it worked!
I was prompted by a driver installation window saying it was installing a USB Reciever.
If it malfunctions again I'll post here.

I'll try it on my brother's PC once he get's up. See how it goes.
