Hey coders, so found this pretty sweet development package put together by GitHub and partners. Unfortunately this is for students only, and you will need to provide you school email address as validation.

The package contains a GitHub micro account for free which gives you 5 private repositories, 100$ worth of free cloud hosting from Digital Ocean, Unreal Engine 4 and much much more.

Come check it out @ https://education.github.com/pack hopefully some of you can benefit from this sweet deal.

    Happy Coding!!!!!

Hard to tell. The University that I currently attend teaches us Java as our first programming language. The reason being is that it covers most programming concepts that you can use in other languages, such as classes, methods, object oriented programming, threads, etc... Now that being said you could also start with something like C++ or C# as they would offer a good stepping stone as well. It's entirely up to you. I have relatively no experience with any of the C based languages so I can't say much more than that about them.

I would personally recommend Java to start, It's given me a good base to learn many other languages with ease such as Ruby, php, html, css and Python. If you are a visual learned you might want to take a look @ The New Boston on Youtube, he has plenty of Java videos and from what I can see there's a beginner playlist.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl-zzrqQoSE&list=PLFE2CE09D83EE3E28

And an intermediate playlist if you choose to continue with it. If your someone who prefers learning through reading I'm sure there are quite a few good books out there however I'm quite uncomfortable recommending anything as I have never learned programming through a book. Maybe someone else can recommend something? If not here maybe in the coding section.

When it comes to coding, there's no better way to learn than by getting your hands dirty with some code. Practice is the best way you can learn how to code hands down. Here's a neat little site where you can quickly get a feel for what Java is all about and see if you want to proceed further. http://www.learnjavaonline.org/

    Hope this helps.

However just so you all know it's only 4k at 30hz. Far from ideal but good deal nonetheless.

Charle692 got a reaction from ThyFeared in [4.0+] Binary Converter v1.0 - Wanting Feedback
Hey everyone. So today I released my first Android application and I would like to have some feedback on it. Any and all feedback is appreciated. This is a learning experience for me and would like to keep on improving through your feedback and further development.

The title basically says it all. The Binary Converter converts between: decimal, octal, hexadecimal and binary. It can also convert from any base n to the main 4 numbering systems. For binary numbers you can convert to 2's and 1's complement. And lastly this app can also teach you how to convert between binary and decimal by hand, for those times when you don't have a converter lying around.

Hope you guys can take the time to look at it and let me know what you guys/girls like or dislike about it and what you would like to see implemented in the future.

You can download it at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Charle692.BinaryConverter it is completely free with no adds and no nasty permissions.

Charle692 got a reaction from TALHA in Zalman Z11 (first build)
Hey everyone thought i'd show off my first build I did a lot of research have made a few mistakes along the way like getting an fx-6100 but i will soon replace it. I chose my case to be the Zalman Z11, there are many reasons for this, one i was looking for something that would break away from the traditional box look that most cases are using. The case was also inexpensive allowing me to spend more money on the insides which is what really counted for me. As a side note this case i really bad for cable management, it doesn't include any grommits except two water cooling ones at the back of the case and there isn't much room behind the motherboard tray. That being said if you take your time and really plan out the cable management you can make it look pretty clean.

    Specs
CPU: Amd fx-6100 @ 4.5ghz (Soon to be swapped out)
    Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
    Motherboard: Asus M5a97 R2.0
    GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7870
    PSU: Diablotek 575watt
Fans: 3x Enermax blue led, 1x blue gelid wing and 1x stock zalman blue led
    HDD: Seagate momentus xt 500gb

If anyone has any suggestions on how i could improve on it let me know! It's constantly a working progress and I'm open to any feedback you guys/girls have!

Here's the side of the case, sorry if it's a little cludered and i don't have a good camera as you can see but it will have to do.

Here's the front of the case where you can see I have 2 fans one is a gelid wing the other stock from Zalman. The Gelid wing is undervolted
and only comes on when I really need it.

Here's the top of the case where there are 2 Enermax fans. Both of these are mounted on the inside behind the grills so it gives this cool scally effect.
There's no room to mount them directly under the fins.

Here's a shot of the inside of the case and of my cable management skills. I think i did a decent job considering that this isn't the best case for cable management and
I have a non modular psu. The top cables are the front panel cables and I plan on hiding those by cutting a hole through the top of the case which will directly run to the
back of the case so those cables won't be visible anymore.

    Here's a slightly close shot.

Here's a shot at the custom grommits i've made, they're made from foam paper which can be bought at any dollar store. All i did was cut a  rectangular piece out and
wedged it under some cables at the back and it stayed in place so no need for glue. I find it makes the build look much cleaner.

Here's what my whole rig looks like at night. This isn't the same room as the one in the photo's above as this was taken in my dorm room but you get the idea.

And that's it hope you guys enjoyed and again if you have any suggestions on improvments shoot them to me!
