obvius1 got a reaction from kirashi in Network package loss and higher ping
Hello everyone, I want to give an update now that everything is fixed! Thanks for the help you all have provided!

It turned out to be my server which caused the issue, I still don't know what the reason was why it started sending out high amounts of data (multiple GB in a short amount of time), but I wanted to try out another OS, so it came at a right time to change!

PS: my excuses that it took so long to respond, had some troubles which meant that I could not figure this out.

Rule devices out one by one, starting at the modem level. Disconnect all devices from the modem except for a single PC, then run tests. If it's potato, call your ISP, otherwise add a single device back into the network stack (even if it's just the "dumb" / unmanaged switch with nothing other than your PC connected), and re-test. Repeat this process until you find the device causing the problem, then either factory reset that device or replace it, and re-test again.

One thing that concerns me is that if you're experiencing packet loss and high ping between devices on your internal network (your PC and server, for example), it's most likely your router, switch, or traffic from an unknown source clogging up the network. Networking is one of the most complex yet simple things to troubleshoot, so based on the information you provided, I'd start at the furthest thing from your internal network and work backwards.

Try disconnecting devices one at a time from the network starting with wired clients and see if the performance comes back.

I had a similar issue when it turned out one of my systems was spamming the network with junk because it kernel panicked four days earlier and I didn't know it.

No problem, the OS just takes up the entire partition. So if you want to still use the USb drive the only option is to delete the partition... rufus is way better than windows formatting, much more functional.. you can also use it to create USB bootable drives, which is what I mainly use it for, glad I could help

Both amd and nvidia will be hyping them for months saying its the next big thing, then just releasing hawaii and maxwell on smaller nodes

Sounds like an attempt at a scam. Report the member and block him from buying/bidding on your listings.

If you keep his account on the Vita, you can play all the games he has.

But if you want to play the games you own, you'll have to loose all of his games. If he doesn't mind you using his account, just get the prepaid cards from the store and buy games using his account to amass a collection.

You can only have 1 account per Vita. You're going to need to take the old account off, but everything will still work.

I don't think you'd need to format the Vita first, just sign out of the account. But once you do, you wont be able to play any of the installed software, so you might want to delete it first.

You should also play Tearaway and Gravity Rush as they're both WAY better on PS Vita. Well Gravity Rush is pretty damn good on PS4 still, but Tearaway is hardly the same game on PS4, so much more interactive and awesome on Vita.

Seriously Tearaway, on top of being a great game, is a wonderful experience. It's magical. It's like playing Zelda for the first time. You MUST. MUST. MUST. play tearaway at least.

Gravity Rush is also just fantastic.

    Hi!
I'm right now on the fence of buying a PS Vita, but one second handed (because it's cheaper and now I have a good deal with a friend).
My question is: He has this mega pack (already used & put on memory card), which I also would like to own. Can I then still use it evendo the PS Vita will be changed to my account?
Sorry for bad English & for not knowing this maybe obvious question!
    Thanks!

I used ifixit for replacing my ipod photo battery when it went and it has been great. The tools were good, tutorials were excellent, and the part works very well. I don't think Linus would let a shady company sponsor his videos.
