Is this a person I should report to eBay?

Someone left a best offer on my item which I accepted.

 

No purchase or rely to my message for over a day, so I relist.

 

Two days later 'sorry I was busy' type excuse, and the buyer says that he has sent payment.

 

EBay shows that the item is still awaiting pahment, the buyer hadn't actually paid and no longer communicates.

 

So why would he say he had paid when he hadn't? Seems like he was trying to trick me into posting the item without having been paid for it?

Sounds like an attempt at a scam. Report the member and block him from buying/bidding on your listings.

Report for non-payment when agreed to (when bidding). It usually takes 3-5days for someone who hasn't setup PayPal to get approved.
