USB showing less Gb

Hey, Noob speaking her!

 

recently i've downloaded Chromium OS to my USB, and i've done some thing not right, so I wanted to install a new, fresh version. 

Now I've formatted my USB, cleaned everything, but it's still showing 1,8Gb instead of 16Gb. Can this still return back to 16?

 

long storry short: 

Less Gb available due to instal Chromium OS, can it get back to normal?

Just use rufus to format the drive.. https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Almost sounds like the USB is formatted with some ancient (and I do mean *really* ancient) filesystem. Something like FAT16. Any even remotely new filesystem would be able to show the full 16GB.

When I format it, it said: FAT(standard). I hope that provided extra info?

 

Edit: It uses FAT32

No problem, the OS just takes up the entire partition. So if you want to still use the USb drive the only option is to delete the partition... rufus is way better than windows formatting, much more functional.. you can also use it to create USB bootable drives, which is what I mainly use it for, glad I could help
