You'll need to wait 30 days after purchasing the Intel PTPP to file a claim.  Hopefully you didn't give them your serial number when you attempted to file a claim under your standard warranty as they may still deny your claim under PTPP if they recorded the fact that you purchased it after you attempted to make your original claim.

Truthfully though, I beat the piss out of my original 5960x.  The new one is so perfect that I'm taking it much easier on it.

Sorry you're having troubles!  Try to submit after you've waited the 30 days from buying the protection plan that done12many2 pointed out, hopefully you'll get lucky and they'll accept it.

What a beautiful game. It kind of brought me back on track, I didn't really play anything in over 2 months, first I got bored, then I started to build a new desk, then I couldn't get used to it... And then today I spontaneously launched this game and got sinked in completely. Finally. Over two months. What a waste. Also this is the first game I have played with newly bought Lightpack. Works amazing. Another position on the list of things you don't get back from and at the same time you cannot be sure that it will always work. This, 21:9, SLI... Ridiculously dependent on the software, but once everything works.. more than worth all the struggle, pushing the boundaries cannot be easy.

Cannot really show the effect of Lightpack because this game is a bit dim so the light is too gentle for my 8 year old phone to pick up, but here are few shots of something else:

Do you have enough motherboard fan headers, to bypass the Aquaero? Would just need pump and maybe a few fans, as idle should not overheat the system right away.
That would be the easiest way, as you can just reset in in aquasuite.

    isn't that about on par with good 7700k's though?  @done12many2 's 7700k is 5.3ghz at 1.44v too.

That said it'd be nice if they brought the average up a little and fix TIM issues as my 7700k seems to be "worse" than the worst 7740k they've tested.  Currently requiring 1.376v for 5.0GHz and getting too hot to try for 5.1ghz, even with a custom loop.

0ld_Chicken reacted to Windows7ge in all copper water bulid
Biggest issue here is that although you're right that metal tubing particularly copper would help dispel heat more than any plastic there wouldn't be enough surface area for it to make a significant impact. It might shave 2~3 degrees off but the radiators would be providing 99% of the effective cooling. Full copper loops have been done before and look quite nice but I don't think it increases performance by any significant margin.

0ld_Chicken reacted to Brodholm in WING X99 | A CNC-milled Scratch Build! (Benchmarks, temps and wallpapers posted!)
The time has finally come to post the final pictures and video of this project. It has been a crazy ride for me, both with very high ups and very low downs. It has taken almost two years to complete and well over 1000 hours of work and planning. Starting with ideas, crude sketches, countless hours in CAD to finally taking physical form. But I have learned a lot and got to know a lot of new friends during the process!

I would like to thank the sponsors of this project: ASUS, INTEL, CORSAIR and EKWB for believing in me and the project! And also to the people behind the brands, who are always there answering questions and offering support! You know who you are, thanks!

I would lastly like to thank everyone on forums, Facebook and Youtube who have helped me with ideas, suggestions, and kind and encouraging words. This really keeps me focused on the goal and enables me to achieve the best results possible. I cannot stress this enough, I owe you a lot! I hope you will enjoy the final video and pictures of the project WING X99.

     THANK YOU ALL!

I also made a final video!

    Reflections
I think it is important to look back at what you have done and reflect on what you could have done better, most importantly regarding methodology. After thinking about this for a long while I have realized a few important things.
The most important one was that I bit off more than I could chew. I really think I took it a few steps too far with this project, with designing and building my own CNC and then immediately starting on this one. Since it was basically only me working on this it was just*WAY too much work for one person to get done in a reasonable time frame. I have worked way too much lately and it has effected both me, my university studies, my fiancée Josefina (who is amazing and understanding) and my friends.
I can't help but to think back at those months around when I worked 6-7 days a week, 14+ hours a day. I basically lived in the workshop and only slept and ate during that time. Don't get me wrong, the feeling I have now is amazing and I am very proud of the results. But next time I will definitely change some things to lighten the work load or get someone to help me more. All in all, if given the choice, I would do it all again. I have learned a lot from this, not just as a modder, but also as a person.

I know a lot of you have asked about how much the whole case with components weighs. And I finally have the answer! It is 42 kg, or about 94 lbs

    Side note
The build also qualified for the “DreamHack Summer Master Class Casemod Championship” along with 5 other great builds! WING X99 will be on display for the competition, but also in the ASUS ROG booth that they have at DHs. I will be there a lot of the time so come and say hello! Hope to see some of you there!

    Final words
Right now I feel very empty and happy at the same time. The project is finally done after all this hard work. But I mostly feel amazing and have genuine gratitude towards everyone who helped in any way with the project. Be it writing a kind comment, helping with the design or actual physical help. YOU are amazing!

No big holiday sale or anything particularily big around today's coupon for this LG 27-inch IPS FreeSync Monitor, just a solid coupon code. Ties its historic low last seen in early May with a drop to $150. For a 1080p gamer, good bang for your buck.

I use a curve card, where you can switch between which card is actually in use with their app, you can also disable your curve card from within the app too, so if you think your card is lost/stolen you can disbale it in the app with one click. You can also change currency being used, so if abroad you won't get hit with an exchange fee etc IIRC.

    https://www.imaginecurve.com/

Very easy to add cards etc, and you get texts/notifications when you have used the card, so if you see something dodgy you can disable it wuickly and then contact curve I believe... your card details are safe as they are only used by curve themselves and not given to retailers, all they see is the curve card.

0ld_Chicken reacted to paddy-stone in Will "smart all-in-one-cards" be secure?
The actual curve card doesn't have your card details at all, it's like you pay "through" that card if you like, the curve card has it's own card number/expiry etc. IIRC, what happens is the card just recognises if you have a payment method selected at all, I have tried it when no payment method selected and it fails to pay. If you leave a card "active" then you don#t need data to enable or anything as it's already enabled... the only downside is that you would also need data access to disable the card in the app, or you would have to phone curve I guess.
I have not had to carry any of my cards with me since I got this curve card. I do however carry an "emergency" pockit card (prepay) with a few hundred on it, just in case. Haven't needed it yet and been with curve around 7-8 months now.
I love the fact that I can just go into my curve app any time and see wat transactions I have made at whcih stores and by card used too, so it's easy to keep work expenses separate by using a certain card. The app by the way locks out certain functions until you enter a pin, so stops you selecting a different card etc unless authorized. You can only see the "active" card, and it doesn't display card numbers or anything, only what you have named it and a picture minus the details eg lloyds bank  VISA debit and called lloyds personal. and under tha ypu can see transactions at which store and for how much... anything else and you need to enter pin to enable.
The card I got was £5 only and came within a few days of me ordering and setting up my account, all this can be done within the app. Oh forgot also that the card is contactless payment too, and is mastercard.

OK, well I've gone a bit off here, sorry for the long explanation. If anyone wants more info, something that I haven't covered you can PM me if you want. Sorry OP for going a bit off topic here, but wanted to inform people there were other choices.

Yeah, I love it, it's so handy having access to all the info you need without having to look it up on your bank or soemthing. I also forgot one thing actually... as well as coming up in the app when you have made a purchase (online or instore) it also emails you a receipt too. There are no fees for using this card anywhere, not even other countries, but can't remember whether you can get cash from ATMs with it, although I think you can, but might be charged a fee by the ATM. I don't really bother with cash too much in my daily life, I just use this card and carry a little cash with me for purchases I don't want on my cards
