    @TakeToTheShadows Software monitoring of voltages are almost always incorrect at idle.  They are more accurate at load.  If your system isn't crashing, don't worry about those voltages.

    If it was actually reading 0v your CPU wouldn't be on. Try using a different monitor like AIDA64 or HWMonitor.
    @ProKoN I believe he's talking about the Vcore#0-3 values, which do look a bit wonky. Cache voltage looks perfectly fine.

    Contact Be Quiet! first, they can send new cables. Whether or not you'll have to pay is unknown to me. But it's 18 euros shipped for a full set if I recall correctly, so it shouldn't be too bad if you just want the cables you're missing.

    Additionally there are companies that make custom cables you could look at. ModDIY made mine, but there is also Mainframe Customs (Formerly Lutro0 Customs) and a few others that should be easy enough to find.

    Cooler will affect more on how high voltage you can use than what OC you can get with that voltage. Its one of the best air coolers on market....

    TakeToTheShadows reacted to AFlyingBuffalo in I need help with this cooling situation.
    Is it possible not to argue aboot this? Anyway I'm getting similar or slightly higher temps at idle and slightly lower or similar temps under full load, but I can barely hear the fan on the cooler.
    I was never expecting a low profile cooler like this one to cool 10 C better or something like that, what I was looking for was a much quieter solution that could perform slightly better or similar to a stock cooler, and I got this one.
    However it does seem to be a bit less hot after an hour or two of gaming so that's a plus.

    Silicon lottery will determine that, but assuming you have an average - slightly above average chip; 4.5 isn't unreasonable.

    I'm just gonna give you some categories. Also if you haven't already picked up H1Z1 then don't it's just another broken early access zombie survival game but also with pay to win so even worse than DayZ SA.

    <Sandbox>
    Salt
    Space Engineers
    Garry's mod

    <Scifi>
    Space Engineers
    Elite Dangerous
    Star Citizen (if you have a good enough rig and can put up with the business model)
    Robocraft

    <Fps>
    Arma 3/2 (more mil sim but both amazing games)
    Insurgency
    Counter Strike Global Offensive
    Payday 2

    <Openworld/survival>
    Arma 2 (Dayz mod (Zombies)
    Arma 3 (Epoch (Zombies), Breaking point(Zombies), battle royale, Altis life. City life mods)
    Salt
    Don't Starve
    The Forest
    Stranded Deep
    The Long Dark
    Mount and Blade Warband (more medieval RPG but large world and lots of good mods)
    State of Decay (Zombies)
    This war of mine (hardcore sidescrolling survival)

    My most recommended would be ArmA 3 not just because it's an amazing game but also the amount of mods there are for it and are still coming out (just be aware arma 3 is a very demanding game to run and multi player is even harder). Also Salt for a pure Infinite world sea/desert island survival game without all the usual base building and for Scifi definitely Elite Dangerous for Literally the biggest game world ever created (The world when it's finished will be a 1.1 Scale model of our Galaxy containing over 400 Billion actual ingame stars you can visit.

    You have to PM an admin but if you want a name that's already taken you have to challenge the current holder of the name to a battle. He has no right to decline this declaration of battle and if you kill him you can have it.

    you're running an R9 290, you need a better PSU. With these cheap POS-things they'll often say 750W on the sticker but in reality won't be able to deliver anything close to that. They also tend to have very low amps on the 12V rail, which means that your GPU could be killing your PSU. The R9 290 requires a minimum of 48 amps on the 12V rail, I doubt your PSU can handle that.

    I just did some googling on the Pulse 750W, I can't even find any info on how many amps the 12V rail is rated at. Do not attempt to run that PSU with an R9 290. You're lucky if you haven't already fried any of your components or burnt your house down. Cheap chinese PSUs are an absolute no-no.

    Yes, you need to connect both, and no, a regular psu does not risk to overvolt it. What psu do you have though?

    I just got a Sapphire R9 290 and I'm wondering do I need to connect both the 6 pin and 8 pin connections from the psu and is there any chance of over volting it? Also the 6 pin connector from my psu is red but still outputs the same 12v as all the others does that mean anything?
