TVwazhere reacted to FlyingPotato_is_taken in How do I get started with 3D CAD modeling?
Autodesk Fusion is a toy compared to Autodesk Inventor.
Is it nice? Yes.
Do you need Inventor as hobbyist? No.
Autodesk Fusion is probably the best bet for free hobby use.
Solidworks Maker edition for $50/year would be the alternative.
If you are student there is Siemens SolidEdge which is similar to Fusion360.
Youtube has dozens of tutorials. Select the one you like.

TVwazhere reacted to Levent in How do I get started with 3D CAD modeling?
Fusion360 is free for home users. Its a great tool to get started imo. TONS of tutorials online and UI is fairly easy as per Autodesk fashion. You can import STL files into it too.

TVwazhere got a reaction from tkitch in 7800X3D significant worse single-core performance on Windows 11
Are you really going to base your entire conclusion off of one test?
Geekbench is unreliable at best. Add software like blender to your list of benchmarks for a better overall look at performance.

TVwazhere got a reaction from minato in How many fans can I daisy chain together
There's a technical answer to this:
Each fan header on a motherboard is able to push out (typically unless otherweise specifed) 1A of power.
Every fan has their listed amp usage on them. Typically this ranges from 0.15A to 0.4A. You can find this info on the fan motor sticker
So, generally speaking you can safely attach 3 fans to one header. Beyond that, you'll need to invest in a fan hub to get the amount of fans you want all controlled by one header.

TVwazhere got a reaction from PowerPCFan in What are the Best Budget Monitor Arms?
Oh I Upgraded in January but I haven't updated my signature until I write the blog (and I've bene really slow on that)
Personally the only thing I'd change is switching out the surge protector for a UPS. Admittedly more expensive, but it protects your PC from blackouts / brown outs, and "smart" ones can safely shut down your pc if the battery runs out so you don't end up with any corrupt files or data.

This is a bit over budget at $125, but this is what I have at work:
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Monitor-Adjustable-Displays-MI-2753/dp/B06X9D7JWP
Currently holding a 27" 4k monitor in the middle and two 22-23" 1080P monitors on either side. Has a wide range of height adjustments (good for me because I sit tall at my desk) Highly recommend

TVwazhere got a reaction from DededeKirby in Data Breaches Arent a Joke - AT&T and the 73 million user data leak
Summary
-This is Not an April Fools Joke-
AT&T, one of the Big Three Cellular Network providers as well as internet to millions of Americans, announced that a dark web database was released containing 7.3M active AT&T users and 65M inactive users. Most concerning is the leak of Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
Quotes
My thoughts
First AT&T had the major service outage, and now a massive breach of personal data. While the data is speculated to be from 2021, it is unknown how far back the data extends, so customers who switched form AT&T back in 2018 (Hi, hello, its me) could still be affected. Admittedly I was part of a family plan so my SSN should be safe(r).
As a reminder, using both a 2FA app like Google Authenticator as well as a Password manager are some of the best ways you can protect yourself in the digital world we now live in, which feels almost inevitable that our data will be at some point compromised.

TVwazhere got a reaction from paddy-stone in dog thread
Who are we to tell dogs that they're incorrectly using their bed?
Body and head fully in donut shape? Correct.
Rest only the head on the edge? Correct?
Laying right next to it barely touching it? Also correct.

TVwazhere reacted to Paul Rudd in Content Warning FREE on Steam April 1st
Content Warning is FREE right now on Steam. 97% Overwhelmingly Positive reviews.
Free to keep when you get it before Apr 2 @ 12:00pm.
This game has the same Swedish publisher of Clustertruck, Stick Fight The Game, Totally Accurate Battlegrounds and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Surprisingly they also have two games called Landfall Archives and Air Brawl that just so happen to be FREE.
P.S. You may or may not remember this post from approximately 2 years ago on April 1st, 2022...
Knightfall A Daring Journey also has the same exact publisher as all the games I just mentioned. So this could mean that Clustertruck, Stick Fight The Game, Square Brawl or ROUNDS could eventually be given out for free too since Totally Accurate Battle Simulator was also given out on Christmas Day of 2019 on the Epic Games store.
