I have dremeled plenty of things on my PC to get stuff to fit. My 9900k mobo heatsink didn’t clear as I had wanted so I ended up milling my own heatsink. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Just have to do what ya have to do sometimes.

Are you sure it's just the metal/heatsink thing that's in the way? It kinda looks like the whole mobo is in the way... a complete shot of the pc/mobo would help... its *very* hard to tell with just a close up, but something obviously went pretty wrong there. 🤔

Dremel that side of the fan down? Clearance a bit of the fan, depending on how much you need it may work.

Yes, your correct. The only plastic shroud is over the I/o on that mobo. I am surprised it doesn’t clear…

Just FYI, the VRM plastic shrouds almost always come off. I took all the plastic shrouds off mine so I can fit a 420x45mm rad up top, even in a large case. So if your having clearance issues you can do this and it’ll likely all fit. The actual heatsinks are typically not all that large, they just add plastic to make it “look better”.

Koshigaya reacted to MCManiac52 in How can I remove the screen without cracking it even more?
If you apply the right amount of heat to the sides of the screen it should come apart fairly effortlessly so you can probably lift the screen off slowly and not make the crack worse.

If it's doing it at random with no relation to power draw then maybe.
PSU's are notoriously difficult to discern how much life is left.
You could check the voltages, they should be 3.3, 5 and 12v with a +/- 0.2, 0.4 and 0.7v respectively.

One time while I was being trained I was moving my mouse around in a circle while something was loading and my co-worker freaked out on me and told me to stop because I might "mess something up" and slow down the computer

Koshigaya reacted to W-L in Is this a faulty o-ring?
It's on correctly the port off the rad/pump is no equal in length, but it does look like potentially an o-ring failed or the fitting was not tightened enough either onto the pump portion or didn't seal fully onto the tubing.

If it uses traditional compression fittings (I don't know if it does), it's a lot worse than that. It looks like part of the fitting has flat out come off.

It looks like it's just held on by the barb and the actual compression part has come off:

Koshigaya reacted to Naeaes in Question about SSD and Recycle Bin
That's not how recycle bin works. IT's not like the file is deleted on the drive and copien into the recycle bin or something. The file doesn't actually move anywhere. Instead a parameter in it is set to make it invisible anywhere other than the recycle bin. If you recover the file that parameter is changed back. If you clear the recycle bin, a second parameter is used to make it so that it can be overwritten. But the point is, the file never moves and the data stays perfectly put forever.

So in a sense, every drive has their own recycle bin and the thing you see on your windows desktop combines them all into one visual representation.
For what you want to happen, you have to first copy the file onto the HDD and then delete it on the HDD. That way it'll become visible in the recycle bin on the HDD. But if you jsut want to save space on the SSD and don't care about recycle bin per se, you can just set it up so that the files are set to hidden+overwriteable when you delete them or in Windows terms, don't send them to the recycle bin. In recycle bin, right click the background and pick properties. In there you can turn it off for individual drives.

Edit: Forgot: if you want to keep some files and lose some and pick individually, you can hit Delete to send them to recycle bin and Shift+Delete to delete permanently. Well, as permanently as you can without overwriting or "wiping" the drive.

Koshigaya reacted to W-L in Is this bend safe?
That's perfectly safe, if you needed to it could go for an even tighter radius on their tubing since it's the thick walled stuff and the compression fittings hold very well.

I actually just looked at the last page in the manual and it says they are rotary fittings. Sorry!

@EK Luc Has been nothing short of helpful in all EK related items... Anyways, my only issue I've ever had with them was due to their inclusion of lots of very similar screws in their water-block kits and the labels being grossly inadequate for a person not used to both english and metric screws together. This caused me to use the wrong screw and break a standoff. They were very helpful in providing a replacement standoff (after I took the time to dig it out haha). Their tolerances are ludicrously tight.

That said, there is a reason everyone in the industry recommends them. Their products are basically always best in class and their support is fantastic and knowledgeable (the only crappy thing is being on the other side of the world naturally means the time-zones are quite different.)

If a lot of people complain about leaks, then just stay on the side of caution and move along. Even if it's a good cooler, it's not worth possibly destroying your system over.

Well, I think just above your monitor pointed at your mouth (Maybe a bit higher and farther away from yourself) would yield good results.

Velcro and double sided tape huh. I was thinking of buying a mount like this and just sticking a fan at the bottom of my case. The fan wouldn't be running and would only serve as a spot to screw the mount into lol.

velcro and double sided tape work great if you have flat surfaces

and if you do plan to build a custom loop, its not really impressive if you just use an "AiO" which has all parts like pump, res, and rad combined into one

what's fun about a custom loop is designing and customizing it to be unique

save money, buy a cheaper sealed AIO or air cooler, and save up to go all-out when its time

Can't say much about swiftech, I've never owned one. I will say that I've owned 4 of the various Corsairs AIO units. Haven't had any issues at all, they just work. I still have one of the H100i that I bought in launch running in one of my friends systems.

The H240-X I've had for a year is still working great. Almost the same design as the X2 just different res and clear waterblock and tubing.  The predecessor to my cooler the h220 did have issues with pumps and leaking, that was a pump on block design which is much different from what they have now.
