A 1080ti would work, and would probably be a little overkill.

Best you could afford. 1080ti is the top choice for most. Decided to go 1080 sli myself as it was only 700 bucks.

For most games 1440P 60Hz a 1070 is fine but a 1080 or 1080 Ti would obviously net you more "futureproofing" as the 1070 won't be able to do that forever.

Either a 1080 for high settings or 1080ti for ultra. Vega 64 could also work for high settings if you so desire.

GTX 1080 would be a nice sweet spot... but the 1080ti really is the right pairing for that sweetest eye candy.

I have a GTX 1080 running 3440x1440, I would recommend at least a 1080 TI or wait for the next best GPU (could be a long wait)

Personally I'll recommend the 1080Ti now, still no competition and the best. Even on widescreen 1440p I'm netting 120-150fps average on most games whicfh is beyond amazing. As long as I don't dip 100fps I'm fine. So assuming taking extra pixels into account per frame rate, you should float around 80-100fps with that card.

Just spent time auditioning HD800. If you have the money, they are nothing short of amazing. BUT, you could get a headphone that will sound 80-90% of HD800 with 1/3rd of the price

thanks for the recommendation, i'll make sure to research up on that one too. I have HD800s in the title and on my mind mostly because its got a reputation so i heard about it. people mention "HD800s best headphones" etc, but if there's one that is a better option for me i'd be completely willing. not locked into one camp mind made up on anything yet haha

Just get the M50X... you know what? Fuck that, the M50X is is pretty good for its price tag, but then the M40X sounds identical to it (which is cheaper), and pretty much at the end of the day, they just left me wanting more. Much, much more.

Well, thats why I got the HD800s because, to be honest, I don't know which genre I tend to lean to since mine is also all over the place. The HD800s are actually really good, and I like the neutrality when I listen to some metal, classical, classical+metal, house, rock, hip-hop, rap, trance, so on and so forth. But yeah, the nature of the HD800s benefits from it. And also, the HD800s are headphones that just do unbelievably great in even competitive shooters that sound whoring becomes very, very, very pin-sharp. Having played some games with really nice soundtracks while I still had them, the experience was just eargasm.

Its tough to recommend something over the HD800.

If you like the musical experience, the HD600 or HD650 will do pretty much as good for much less, or get the HD700. Then again, thats like trying to undercut yourself to something that has the best chance that can (and could) give you the musical experience that you want (mine as well), so... I don't know what to recommend over that.

They're slightly less accurate, making them more enjoyable to listen to They are still very neutral, and have a balanced sound. Some including me prefer it over the HD 800

Well, its somewhat worth the price tag. My gripe with the HD800 is that there's something thats kind of bad at 6khz, but is very, very, very tolerable. I do regret selling my HD800s, I didn't sell them because of the way it just sucks at 6khz (for its price tag, I hated it), I had to sell them due to an emergency.

Another thing that even some of the most enthusiastic audiophiles do not like about the HD800 is that its just too analytic, in which (I'm not a full-fledged audiophile, just someone who's enthusiastic about music and audio quality) almost every song sounds neutral, nothing peaks out that much. I do like that since I do like my music to be clear as possible.

I would like to recommend other pairs, but I'd like to know what genres of music you listen to.

Ah, I'm an 970 SLI owner too! great arent they?

Sounds to me, like you want the 34" curved. You arent doing competitive gaming, where you need that super fast response times. The dell is huge and beautiful, and it looks very impressive sitting on your desk.

If I was you, judging from your last comment, pull the trigger and get the big, bad, curved, IPS.

It's a IPS panel. Which looks a,aging with the curved and at 1440p it.l be like you have a mini movie theater in your house. The monitors around the Same price as the movie theaters so why not is the true question.

Yes and no, Its alot less likely. The issue isnt exactly Folding@home, just the CPU hitting 100%. Even if its off and it spikes to 100% for a few seconds it could happen.
you can run it at 50% but then your own multitasking could make it go to 100% or much higher then normal.

If your Maxing out your CPU and using Folding@homt then Nope you wont avoid it, That error is a Hardware error, its about the CPU clock. Your CPU is at 100% working in overdrive and its becomes unresponsive and slowly out of sync so data mishaps happens causing the system to crash.
