-CLASSIFIED- reacted to WoodenMarker in PC heating up my room too much even though it's temps aren't that high
The heat generated depends on how much power the system uses. Component temps don't change that.
If you want your room to be cooler, you need to better ventilate it.

One SSD fails and your data is gone. That's how RAID 0 works, there is no redundancy.

    As others stated, they're dying.
Also keep in mind that even if they doubled the frame rate, the benefit might be near 0.

Imagine a scenario where with 1 card you have a perfect 60FPS (each frame renders in 16.6ms).
    16.6 - 16.6 - 16.6 - 16.6 - 16.6 - 16.6
Now imagine a case where you have two frames rendered in the same 16.6ms time period.
    15.6-1-15.6-1-15.6-1-15.6-1-15.6-1-15.6-1

In such a scenario you'd effectively double your frame rate but the time between major frame updates is... about the same as you had before, no real improvement.

SLI and CF always struggled with both increasing frame rates AND making sure the the extra frames came at a time where it mattered.

-CLASSIFIED- reacted to Oshino Shinobu in Is Ethical Hacking good?
Don't refer to it as hacking. The industry doesn't use that term either, it will be something like system security analyst. It's basically the same thing, but doesn't have the misunderstanding or stigma that "hacker" does.

If you'er interested in testing system security as a profession, you'll want to learn about system security, encryption and low level operating system design to get a proper understand of how it works and where the vulnerabilities lie. If you try to jump into learning to "hack", you'll find you're just copying commands that someone else has come up with and you won't understand how or why something can be exploited and how it can be fixed.

EDIT: As for whether ehtical hacking/white hat hacking is good. It's an essential part of the development process for pretty much all computer systems. If there's no security testing on say, a new banking platform, then potential security exploits which could result in unauthorised access to accounts could be in the released product.

EDIT2: As for whether it can do any harm. That really depends on what you're using it for. The difference between black and white hat isn't the methods, it's how it's used. A white hat hacker's job is to basically act as a black hat hacker, but under a controlled, legal and pre-agreed environment for an employer.

Grey hat hackers are generally black hat hackers, typically with a moral message or otherwise trying to do something they consider good. In the eyes of the law, they'll generally be considered black hats though.

-CLASSIFIED- reacted to Den-Fi in Is ultrawide gaming worth the trouble and problems?
I haven't had an issue with any placement. The cut scene thing was annoying for like the first 5 times. I don't really notice it now. Doesn't pull me out of the game (immersion wise) or anything. If any of those are deal breakers for you though, skip ultrawide.

Just started playing, only have the F-15C for now, but thinking about buying the A-10. Still learning and its quite a steep learning curve, so Im probably going to wait with the A-10 until Im comfortable in the F-15. Would love to find someone to learn and fly with, if anyone is up just shoot me a PM!

TBF I really like the Razer blade lineup,  My only experience was actually kind of nice as a friend of mine wanted one and I helped them replace the shite paste and undervolted it.  It was a toaster before then, not a cool thing from manufacturer to overlook.

In terms of Razer  peripherals I avoid them like the plague.  For  the same cost as a Chroma V2 I can nearly get a K95 platinum with actual Cherry MX switches.  A high  end Razer mouse costs  significantly more than a really nice Corsair mouse that has much better construction and for the same price I can get an MX master, also known as the nicest mouse in the universe

-CLASSIFIED- reacted to dany_boy in How badly will Overclocking kill my PC?
Unless you go with LN2 or phase change and 1.4+ volts (for intel) there is not really much to worry about aside from instability on poor OC's. Just watch your temps and stay at "safe" voltages. Watching OC guides from all your favourite you-tubers will arm you with the appropriate knowledge.
