It is, but keep in mind that the water cooling parts and the desk can be reused
when/if the build will be upgraded, so those expenses are unique to the first
machine this setup is used for.

Well, that's a logical, but not necessarily correct, conclusion, isn't it?
My dad could easily afford a much more expensive machine if he wanted to, but
he would certainly call 7.5k expensive, just as an example.

+1. Something may be expensive, but if it's still worth it to you, you could
still call it a good investment. I'm pretty sure my rig is even a bit more
costly than this one (and quite a bit of those $$$ can't be reused in a
later upgrade, see Xeons and Titan, so my investment is not as long-lasting
as this), and I would definitely call it expensive, but I don't see it as a
bad investment, just as something I really, really want.
If somebody doesn't want to spend a few k on a PC, then they probably shouldn't,
and that's perfectly fine with me.

So yeah.. my UP7 died Was pretty pissed, this loop isn't the easiest thing to drain
But here is how it works,
With the tap fitting on the right of the res I just put some tube and that goes down the back which goes into a jug.

Once as much water as possible has drained I then use my other tap here, which is on the side of the radiator to blow the water out. This tap is also used for filling, I open it up when filling as it allows the loop to fill up with as less air as possible, and also lets me continuously fill it without having air bubbles blow up the tube.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
about 2 weeks after this had passed I had gotten my UP7 back and was ready to start the loop again.
However I wanted to do something about my 3770K. Mine is a pretty shit one, and can barely get stable at 4.4ghz and pumps out a shit ton of heat.
So, I delidded it, (vice method) and will be running it with no lid. to maximize cooling potential.

I set up the tubing again, and set my handy towels up. And yes, that is the old coolant there.

Mixing up the coolant, here is a shot comparing the MDPC-X Orange to the Pastel Orange

After about 55 drops of yellow dye, we got this colour, though not matching the MDPC-X sleeving, it is a pretty perfect colour to the Gigabyte Orange

And a crop photo comparing them (new colour on the right)

I started to fill the loop back up, and instantly saw a clear difference between the old coolant in the left res, and the new in the right. Hope it is clear in the photo's

The stickers on the side AF120 fans were upside down, though I should make those the right way around

Here are is the new loop. Looks great!

With the NZXT Led kit, it will be powered by a Fan header. Did this in an old build and never had any problems.

Here is full shot of the desk, the top draw is missing because it no longer fits. Why is that? well, I found that the desk was a bit too tall for my liking, so I took about 8cm off off it
So took 8cm off of the legs, and off of the draw carcass (got my mum to do the carcass for my while I was at uni so no pics off that bit) and will have to cut down the draw size to get it back in there. It'll be my pen draw

Checking to make sure that the LED's are working (will get a night photo out tonight probably)

Thought I would show a size photo just to give some prospective. NOTE: I will not be using the top of the desk for my keyboard/mouse I will be making a keyboard tray this week some time (still have to figure out I will do it too) this photo was just for prospective.

Well I measured out what needed to be cut earlier and made the relevant cuts to allow me to have the 240mm radiators in the front

Chop chop by Mat Teague, on Flickr   That definitely isn't a empty bottle of captain morgans in the background...    Going to get some sort of filler to get rid of the holes around the 240mm radiator. I also had to take the front drive cage as this needs cutting down to allow the 240mm radiator in. Also I am only really going to be using three of the front bays so I am not too worried about loosing one. Chop chop by Mat Teague, on Flickr

I'd rather it be the other way around to be perfectly honest. Cigs are made of cancer causing poisons and alcohol leads to drunken deaths and fighting. While I'm not a stoner, I can at least look at this with open eyes to know that marijuana has legit healing properties unlike the former that are legal for some weird reason.

It actually annoys me when someone equates smoking pot to crack with the anti-drug propaganda that seems to be popular in the states.

crocski reacted to M-ursu in All Volcanic island GPUs Except Hawaii Feature Refreshed HD 7000 Cores!
AMD Volcanic Islands R-200 Family Final Codenames Revealed Hawaii chip would feature a die 30% smaller than the NVIDIA’s behemoth GK110 core and would be based on the 28nm process. We are stacking up the information regarding AMD Volcanic Islands family bit by bit but the one that doesn’t made any sense till now is the new R-200 naming scheme. HIS leaked the codenames on their web portal a few days ago and the page has been down since that leak but it didn’t stop people from acquitting more information. More info about leak can be found here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/55994-amd-9xxx-series-naming-confirmed/   Naming Both Planet3DNow and VR-Zone managed to slip across information for an AMD board partner who seems to clear the confusion built up around the codenames. First we have to take out the Dual-GPU from the equation, its too early to speculate about such a product since AMD just introduced their Radeon HD 7990 this year. The Dual GPU may have a Tonga or Vesuvius codename but it isn’t going to happen this early.  As for the other codenames, the previous rumor about all GPUs except Hawaii featuring a refreshed Southern Islands core seems to be true. This may be one of the reasons why we were looking at largely similar specs of the R9-280X GPU leaked by HIS compared to the Radeon HD 7970. The cores fused on the GPUs would be the same but would feature a new codename. Hawaii GPU will feature 28nm core, 30% smaller die than GK110 Matt  Skynner (AMD’s  Vice President) have confirmed that Hawaii GPU would be atleast 30% smaller than the NVIDIA’s GK110 core. Hawaii will be based on a 28nm process and they will not be moving to a 20nm design process. Matt says: "No reason was foretold but its easy to point out the cost of production that goes into acquiring 20nm wafers that is not yet feasible and the fact that 20nm volume production doesn’t begins until Q1 2014". Hawaii GPU would have a die size measuring around 420-430mm2  while NVIDIA’s Titan and GTX 780′s GK110 core measures at 561mm2. This is after a long time that AMD would be featuring a gigantic chip on their video cards. It remains to be seen what kind of performance and efficiency would the new chip deliver since NVIDIA Kepler. Kepler as a whole has delivered amazing power efficiency while AMD focused on raw performance. Price New AMD Hawaii GPU based video card will not cost $999 like Titan, but would be priced a bit lower than their Radeon HD 7990 solution that currently costs $699 US Dollars. We can speculate a price point that is very close and possibly lower than the GeForce GTX 780′s $649 price. AMD Hawaii GPU will cost more than the Radeon HD 7970′s price of $549 at launch in January 2012.   AMD to live webcast volcanic Islands at  GPU’14 conference A real-time video webcast of the showcase can be accessed on the Investor Relations home page: ir.amd.com. A replay of the webcast can be accessed approximately one hour after the conclusion of the live event and will be available for 30 days after the event.     Source:

I work at a computer shop in Western Australia and had my computer on display Project Banana Phonez when a customer told me he had seen my build log of the computer here on the forums. He went on and asked me if I could build him a water cooled computer based on TastyPC's 900D review with his existing computer that already had watercooling and parts that would fit the red and black theam.

We discused prices and after negotiations I gave him a list of parts he would have to source from the internet to compleate the build. after about a month he had all the parts and I could finaly start the build. This would be the 818th computer that came into the shop for a service this year hence the name.

Massive thanks for over a 1000 views and a 100 votes!

It's weekend, so it's time for another update!

I only got to do most of the work this morning as I had my day of birth yesterday

First off I started gluing the boxes together:

The result of this turned out nice:

But ofcourse I didnt make the sides a 100% straight with the sanding:

But after working some magic with putty It's all nice and filled up:

Now it was time to finally test fit the boxes in the case:

Next up I made some measurements and decided were i needed holes in the tubing:

I also cut and bend the two other tubes and test fitted them:

And finally I did one of the last painting jobs for this build:

I hope you guys are as happy as I am with how this is turning out. The next update (possibly even the last ) will be at least by the next weekend, as always! And as always, feel free to leave suggestions and questions in a reply!

Thanks, man! Yeah the sleeving and lacing really does take up a lot of time. I've
spent 4 hours today just lacing one bundle of cables, and I've only done half of
it so far. Lacing the GPU power cable bundle also took about four hours.
PS: We totally need that expression in German: "Scheiss-Tonne". Although I suppose
it might be a bit more ambiguous than in English due to the nature of the word "Tonne"
in German. I doubt people could easily distinguish between "Scheiss-Tonne", "scheiss
Tonne" and "Scheisstonne", especially in conversation.

I have a dark theme(FT Deep Dark), a whole bunch of user scripts... A whole bunch. My favourite is the facebook auto-poker which automatically pokes people back so I win poke wars. I like Magic Actions For YouTube as an extension, it's really good but it has a few small bugs with YouTube centre which is needed for disabling DASH playback. I also have firebug and greasemokey etc. Also, a virtual wallet that automatically enters in payment details for sites to save time. mine is the bitdefender wallet that came with my antivirus, so I know it's freaking secure
