Samsung 840 Evo - where to buy

Samsung's 840 Evo drives are pretty well proven in the market at this point (okay I was a little late posting this video) so I can recommend them not only from a price to performance ratio standpoint, but also from a reliability standpoint. In spite of the fact that they use TLC (3-bit per cell MLC) flash, they have been shown to be very robust, and anything over a 120GB drive will last for many years in a typical client environment.

If you want something more "professional grade" then you can always get the 840 Pro, but if we're talking about a drive for a desktop PC, the 840 Evo is a great option.

Good video, and this is is from my non banned account.

More from when I'm not banned, this is what I get for calling people out.

840 evo doesn't seem worth it there are better drives out there for the price. Can get a better drive for the price.

I like the video but I have a question

I plan on building a system and you mentioned the 1 GB of Ram cache So what is faster for me 2 840 evos in Raid 0 250 GB each

a single 500 GB one with RAM cache

or should I get two 250 GB in raid 0 with cache ?

Are these still one of the best SSDs for price on the market, as this video is quite old...?

yes, though depending on where you live SSDs like the Crucial mx100 might be cheaper and perform similar.

I live in the UK, so I'll look into it. Thank you!
