Bit Trip Runner 2 Stuttering

I bought Runner 2 yesterday. The game runs at 60FPS (according to steam's FPS counter), but it is VERY jittery. Also, my monitor runs at 75hz. Turning Vsync off uncaps the framerate, but it tears really badly and it still stutters.

 

Could this stuttering be caused by poor programming, or my monitor being at 75hz? What can I do when I get my 144hz master race monitors?
