I wonder why they didnt use the DCUIII cooler though?

 

I think because they know a good number of people who buy cards like this will just throw a full cover water block on it anyways and OC it to the moon. Better to use a cheaper cooler if people are just going to remove it anyways. 

 

The cooler on this card is absolutely HIDEOUS, IMO.

They should have made a Nvidia Titan X blower styled card with black shroud and gold accents. Would have looked so much cooler.

The watercooled hof card doesn't have jack on the kingpin, there's only one competitor to the kingpin right now, that limited edition galaxy hof Ln2 card, and it barely keeps up.

fair enough. I just love the color. :P

Dear asus , Just becasue you slapped gold on the GPU , that doesnt make it any better.

Most definitely. Technology has sure come a long way within the last five years. I'm hoping we'll get some reviews of this card ASAP because I'm genuinely curious to see how it stacks up against the kingpin.

the gigabyte extreme has a higher stock boost clock and samsung memory. Also what memory will this card have? Samsung or Hynix, since samsung is a better overclocker

Except for those who want to keep it air cooled will be be disappointed when it thermal throttles because of the reference cooler. ;)

 

Would look better though, yes. MUCH better. :P

That would certainly work better than a reference cooler and look better than the lump of gold/black plastic they put on this thing. But again, a good number of people who buy cards like this incorporate it into a custom loop which makes the AIO useless and an additional cost which ins unnecessary. 

 

The cooler they put on this card is not their best, but it is "good enough" for those who want to keep it air cooled or used as an inexpensive place holder for those who put it in a custom loop and remove the air cooler. ;)
