So in the interest of helping the next wan afterparty play the "honorable mentions," I thought I'd compile a list of my favorite entries from the LG Ultrawide video thread (located here.) Here's my top 47ish, plus 7 unrated bonus ones...because they can't be rated. If this thread is worthy, @ixi_your_face, feel free to bring it to the attention to @Slick and @LinusTech so they can use it.

 

And yes, as a disclaimer, I am easily amused by the MLG Cena scene, illuminaughty references, and cheesy Australian accents. And this is not a comprehensive list -- I've probably left out a few more deserving ones too, so feel free to add the ones you liked too. Or just flame me for these ones, I don't really care( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

 

P.S. I hope Linus does a similar video contest for Christmas. Going back and watching these was funny/entertaining. Maybe make it more difficult and set the time limit to 20 seconds next time because there was easily over 500 legitimate videos to go through, just in that thread.

Glad to see #1, 2, and 7 made it into the honorable mentions on the wan show last night. The Tintu vid was absolutely hilarious and would have definitely made my list if I saw it earlier...maybe even top10:

 

 

Also surprised he didn't show #3, you couldn't ask for better timings and subtle quirks. I thought the "video examples" listed in Linus' contest video description were so poopy compared to the latest batch of videos, but granted those were made way back in 2011. And I totally agree that subjectivity is a big reason why people get chosen over others.

 

Here's some pro-tips for next time: don't mark your post as "reserved" thinking you'll get more visibility earlier in the thread. The amount of people who simply marked their post as "reserved" and never got back to edit it to include their video is...many. Also, one thing I noticed when watching videos, never put in ear-piercing high-pitched noises, I stopped those videos immediately and moved on to the next one.
