Looking to upgrade my GTX780.

Hi guys, i had some extra money come in this month that was wasn't expecting so rather than bank it all i have decided to treat myself to some retail therapy in the form of upgrading my PC.

 

This is my current system.

  i7 4770k
• Motherboard
  Asus Z87I-PRO
• RAM
  8 gig Corsair Vengeance Pro
• GPU
  Asus gtx 780 directcu ii
• Case
  Corsair Obsidian 250D Mini ITX
• Storage
  Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB SSD
• PSU
  Thermaltake 750W Toughpower Gold
• Display(s)
  ASUS MX279H 27in AH-IPS

 

My CPU has a stock cooler on it and as such has never been overclocked i would like to change that, looking for a solid aftermarket air cooler for the 4770k.

My Mobo i think is fine however i'd like to go up to 16 gigs of ram instead of the current 8.

The GPU i think i'll go for a EVGA 980ti hybrid card and sell my 780 (possibly here on the classifieds not sure what its worth 2nd hand though)

The 250D is a little small for what im looking to do so maybe step up to a 350D (i like the plain look) 

 

When the time comes i can drive to PC case gear in Melbourne and buy the parts over the counter, i guess i'll be spending somewhere in the vicinity of $1500 AUD and just looking for some insight i guess, never hurts to get some extra opinions before you pull the trigger thanks in advance.

Or if you like green team then you can get 980Ti

 

There is also the R9 390 or 390X if the 3 above cost to much...

Get a GTX 980ti 

Get a G-sync 1440p or 1080p monitor

380 or 390 are my recomendations, also if you have the money go for a 980 or a 980 Ti. Never go for a 970 because 390 is better.

R9 Fury X has faster memory bandwidth so I am assuming it will be more futureproof than a gtx 980 or 980ti.

get the nh-d14 for your cpu cooling solution. use my overclocking guide; link is in my forum signature

 

if you're going to get a new mobo, get one with sli capabilities

 

the fractal design arc xl is also a good case choice
