PrecisionX hiccup?

1Scotty1

Hey, folks

yesterday I tried running PrecisionX during gaming, so I can have my custom fan curve active, BUT... there was a problem, let me break it down for you...

Normally I play Diablo 3 at 4K DSR at ultra without a single issue, but seeing I have a reference 980Ti, my temps are 83°C at load, so I wanted to setup a custom fan curve and turned on the overlay on PrecisionX so I can see temps during gaming. Here is what happened - I launched the game and immediately it crashed to desktop. I was like

So I lowered the resolution to 1920x1080, launched the game, started playing, but the overlay was "frozen" or stuck, displaying 36°C constant, without a change...

Any of you have a clue as to what is happening? Why it crashed at 4K and got stuck at 1080p?

All I did was turned on a pre-set "aggressive" fan curve in PrecisionX, no overclocks or any of that shenanigans...

PrecisionX is updated to latest version...

Thanks

As much as I love EVGA and Precision X...

Only thing I can recommended is writing down your current overclock, and uninstalling Precision X, and installing MSI afterburner....

Good luck!

Like I said, I don't have an overclock... The GPU is at stock everything

No problem, but trying Afterburner might help

I do agree. I have had more success with Afterburner than with Precision X...

Also, did a bit of research into overlays for you...

Have a look at CAM by NZXT... They have a nice overlay / system monitoring program which might be what you are looking for in terms of seeing temps / fan speeds / load
